This case fits really well, and does have a hole for the lanyard (at least the one I received does).Doesn't make an expensive piece of cycling kit look cheap, either.I'd definitely recommend this for anyone who wants that extra bit of protection for their Edge 1040

Silicone Garmin cover

Fits Well any Garmin 1040 form factor and does the job.
With all the holes in the right places, this fitted my Garmin 1040 perfectly. Raised around the screen, you would be unlucky to drop this and have the screen break. The silicone gripped the road in a crash and spun the Garmin on the mount. While slightly marked, neither the Garmin nor the proactive cover showed any damage. Had the Garmin not been spun on the handlebar I wouldn't have known it had been hit.
