NokiaLumia 530 SIM-Free Smartphone - Green

this phone was bought for about £50. bargain. same size as my 630, just as fast, bit less memory, easily fixed by inserting a memory card.inserted 3 simcard. works. connected to my wifi, windows 8.1 cyan preinstalled, quickly updated itself to windows 8.1 denim. simple to set up, but ive previously set my 630 up and this was similar. no nasty surprises. battery capacity maybe slightly less than the 630, will have to wait and see. bought as a gift for my brother in law, who dropped his old smartphone down the loo... :) this will be a surprise early Christmas gift. setup of Microsoft account and outlook email quite easy, so when he gets it, I will already have set it up for him to use it straight away. again, no problems, no nasty surprises, good well featured phone, I found it a breeze to set up but then ive been here before with the two 630s, mine and my wifes. so I suppose I am used to it. I recommend the 630, but also this 530 as a budget alternative.

Lumia 530: Fast delivery, thanks. Couldn't resist the lightning special offer so bought the phone mostly for use as a media player, fitted with a 32GB microSD card. However, in spite of the obvious compromises, this is a capable smartphone. Already I have used it as far more than a media player.Pro:Fast quad-core processor. Windows Phone 8.1 Cyan seems to run well, despite having only 512MBytes RAM. The apps and media files can flow onto the SD card, meaning that the 4GBytes of internal memory is less of a problem.Windows store offers a reasonable range of apps. Microsoft & Nokia provide several useful free apps, including downloadable World-wide maps, a driving / navigation app, video editing apps etc.Includes a mains charger (micro USB connection)Certainly for its price, this seems a useful, capable phone.Con:- Any small text is hard to read on this screen.- Camera is fixed focus & has no flash, so is less useful for eg. scanning documents... or as a flashlight.- XBox Music app is peculiar. It doesn't want to replay the contents of a folder; eg. the large number of files in an audio book. It does not seem possible to "select all" then "add all" to a playlist. Instead, it is easier to connect the phone to a Windows PC and then to use Windows File Explorer to select the files and create a playlist.- No official Firefox or Chrome browser or modern Opera, so a problem if MS Internet Explorer does not work with a website.- None of the usual security apps. I do hope they aren't needed.- Not obvious how to terminate an app. Does that matter?- Don't think an external USB memory device can be connected, eg. using USB OTG.- The "Here" maps seem to give several optional settings but only three choices of routes: Fast, Balanced, or Shortest. Unlike with Google directions, it does not seem to be possible to fine-tune a route to pass points you like.So, this is a better device than I was expecting. Already, an insistent voice has been telling me where to go. This device has also been useful for checking how my websites appear on Windows phones.But despite their nice cameras, having experienced the current disappointing lack of web browsers I am glad I did not buy a high-end Windows phone.

This has worked fine until suddenly its time/date function went beserk and that has affected everything else. I then had to set the time manually, yet incoming texts show the phone's own incorrect time. The emails now don't arrive, so its only good for wrongly timed texts, and calls. The troubleshooting guide doesn't list this phone's problems, and the Nokia/Microsoft website just takes you round in circles. It says you have to 'check the date and time' as this may affect other functions and apps, but it doesn't tell you what to do if it will only accept a manual input of date and time! It tells you to 'check' other things but doesn't tell you what to do if you check these things and they are OK but if the phone still won't do what its supposed to do! I've wasted HOURS on it. A two year guarantee is hopeless if there is no support and help that really works! I would NEVER buy another one of these phones. Apparently if I try to sell it on a 'we buy any phones' site it would give me £9!!!

I bought this phone to replace my Nokia Lumia 520, which I have been using for over a year.The first thing that struck me was the quality of the phone didn't seem as good as the phone it replaced. The casing on the back cracked after just one week of abuse from my toddler, where as the previous model has withstood a whole year of abuse without any signs of wear.It is a little thicker than the old phone, which was a surprise.The phone itself performs well, and is a little quicker than the previous model, which shows in every day use.If you are looking to upgrade from the 520, then my advise would be to save your money, as the improvements do not out way the loss of build quality. However if you do not own a smart phone, and are looking for a cheap but very function rich foot on the ladder, that performs well, then this is a good buy.

Es perfecto y precioso. Justo como lo había imaginado, este modelo está infravalorado. El color verde es precioso. La pega es que ha sido caro... y que no viene diseñado el sistema para Europa, si no para México, con la compañía telefónica Texcel...Aunque la alegría es que incluye el cargador original... debería haberlo sabido antes y me hubiera ahorrado el comprar uno nuevo... xD

Ich habe mir dieses Handy gekauft, weil es sehr preiswert war und sehr handlich und nicht zu groß ist. Es passt gut in die Hosentasche, das war mir wichtig. Die Schrift beim Sms schreiben ist recht klein aber man gewöhnt sich daran. Ich mag das Windows System und komme gut damit zurecht. Kann ich sehr empfehlen!

ho dovuto cambiare le impostazioni del telefono dato che è nato per il mercato inglese ... unica pecca il carica batterie con la presa omologata x l'Inghilterrra che necessita di adattatore. Per il resto è un ottimo prodotto
