good item
The item is very well made and works very well. Glad I purchased it. The spring tension is way above what was needed, the window opens "very" easy but to close it takes a little effort. Had to modify the window frame slightly to fit it into the frame, the u-tube videos makes it look easy but it takes more time to do it.

Just what I needed for my windows
Very sturdy and perfect fit for my window. Although it wasn't from Amazon prime next day free delivery took little longer to get it and was afraid if it is going to be correct one or not because there wasn't enough help to figure out, but it turned out to be correct size.

Easy replacement part, worked eventhough what I was replacing looked nothing like this.
Worked perfectly! Wasn't sure if this would work, I could not find the original manufacturer of the window, nor the actually part that looked the same. All I did was measure the width and height of the spring I already had, weighed the mirror(to determine what strength tension I needed, 8lbs in this case) then search till I found something close. I had a few of the pieces break off while trying to put it in, was ridiculous hard to get in, and the little piece of plastic that broke off don't even matter, they were pretty much excess plastic for whatever reason. Once in the window it instantly worked flawlessly. Window can now slide up and down with one hand and stays in place. Glad this worked 👍 The photo is the piece that I needed replaced. Doesn't look similar, but worked just as good.

WHAT THEY DON'T TELL YOU!
These are the "New" style. They don't tell you the "T" pin doesn't fit, but you might find some videos that will say you need the round pin style. No you don't. After fighting for an hour to get the window back in, I did what I should have done to begin with, compare the old vs the new. The new style has the pin pivot that sticks out further than the old style. Simple fix. I used my bench grinder and shaved 1/8" off each pin, and it all went back together perfectly! Those that said these are junk and broke immediately didn't shave the end of the pin off. With better information from the vendor, I would have given 5 stars.

Don't be intimidated; this is an easy repair.
When I went to raise our kitchen window I heard a loud snap and then the window would no longer stay up properly. I thought, "Great, this is gonna cost a $1,000 to have the window replaced". Looked online at a few YouTube DIY repairs for double hung windows and the whole job took less than 30 minutes to replace both right and left spring assemblies (including a good cleaning of the window panes). Just take the time to order the correct part that looks just like the one in your current window. Thank you WRS and YouTube. Another DIY job made easy.

When you find the right one, it's great!
Easy to install once it's been FOUND! Hard to find the correct version and there are so many choices and variations! Wish the pin / bar that goes to the window bottom came with the spring, too.

Easy replacement - cut hole, remove screw then unit. Reverse to install.
Perfect fit and works well with its left/right counterpart.
