leaked air, easily fixed with tape.
Overall does the job but air leaked badly from each end cap. This was due to the ends of the tube being rough and not seating properly into the silicon seals. Wrapping a turn of electrical insulating tape round the join was sufficient to stop the leak... But although this would be perfectly ok on its own, I emptied out the silica and filed the ends of the tube flat, re-assembled and tested ok. Just to make sure, I also wrapped tape around the join.
