Other reviewers state that this item is expensive. Yes, it is BUT it is manufactured by a highly reputable maker and the quality is first class. Wusthof knives are very costly but one gets what one pays for. I treasure my knives and take very good care of them. I cannot recommend Wusthof products ighly enough.

Bought this for my Son along with the whetstone. He has the knife and is very happy with his new kitchen utensils, to develop his culinary skills. Shame they don’t come together though. £20 for a plastic tray is maybe a bit steep!

I use this with my Wusthof whetstone.Stops everything slipping and gives a nice stable surface for working on.It's bigger than the stone so will fit pretty much any stone.The extra room lets you keep a damp sponge on it too and catches all the water and swarf that comes off.Best of all it works free-standing so you don't need to bolt a vice to your lounge coffee table.

It's a tray to collect water and sharpening debris.Rubber foot print minimises movement on a work top and rubber pads keep the stone still.Does what it should. Pricey but useful.

Fine; it does what I expected it to do, and being designed for the Wüsthof whetstone, the latter fits snugly inside. A lid would be an upgrade (like the Nortons) but its absence is probably reflected in the (very reasonable) price.

It does the job but is expensive for what it is.

This is ok, but not perfect.For a start it is substantially bigger than Wusthof whetstones.Although the stone tends not to move within the holder, it is by no means secure.Worse, there is not a great deal to stop the holder slipping against the surface you've placed it on.It's basically a black plastic tray.I found a circulon silicon mat worked just as well.

Die WÜSTHOF 7919 Abziehstein-Halterwanne kam wenige Tage nach Bestellung durch Amazon Logistics. Entgegen der Produktbeschreibung ist sie aber nicht aus Edelstahl, sondern aus schwarzem Kunststoff gefertigt, was hier vorteilhaft ist, da die Wanne durch eine entsprechende Prägung des Kunststoffbodens äußerst rutchfest (auf der Holztisch-Arbeitsplatte) steht und das schleifstaubhaltige Schleifwasser nicht nur gut auffängt, sondern auch unter dem Warmwasserhahn einfach und schnell zu reinigen ist.Die Wanne nimmt Schleifsteine samt Halter bis zu einer Größe von 323 x 108 mm auf, die Tiefe ist innen 15 mm und der Innenboden ist mit rutschfesten Noppen ausgestattet, so dass auch kleinere Schleifsteinhalter fest zu positionieren sind. Ich benutze sie mit den Shapton Kuromaku-Schleifsteinen, die ich mitsamt den Kuromaku-Plastikhalterboxen in die Wanne stelle, wobei die Gummifüßchen der Halterboxen sich mit den Bodennoppen der Wanne verkeilen, dadurch bleiben Halterboxen und Schleifsteine fest mit der Wanne verbunden, nichts wackelt beim Schleifvorgang.Zudem habe ich bei den Kuromaku-Halterboxen die Möglichkeit, den Schleifstein sowohl auf der geschlossenen als auch in der geöffneten Halterbox zu plazieren, dadurch kann ich die Arbeitshöhe nach Bedarf variieren, was die Einhaltung des Schleifwinkels beim Schleifvorgang vereinfacht. In summa: ein tolles Ding, diese Abziehstein-Halterwanne, und für 20 Euronen recht preiswert!

Bien conçu, permet un bon maintien de la pierre à aiguiser même mouillée. Permet d'éviter de mettre de l'eau partout lors de séances d'aiguisage.

Great product

Die Wanne ist sicher von einem Praktiker entworfen worden,der Messer selbst mit einem Schleifstein schärft.Sie hat einen gummierten rutschfesten Stand.Im inneren liegt der Stein ebenfalls rutschfest.Ich stelle einen anderen Schleifstein Halter mit Schleifstein komplett in die Wanne.Die Wanne nimmt selbst grösste Schleifsteine oder Schleifstein Halter samt angebrachten Schleifstein auf.Beim schleifen bleibt jetzt mein Tisch trocken und sauber.
