Still Hood

The quality is awesome.Also the book is just as I ordered.

I just finished "Still Hood" by K'wan. I did not want that story to end. A lot of "authors" write so called "street lit", however my man K'wan delivers classic tales reminiscent to the late, great Donald Goines. The rawness,coldness, and realness of the streets comes at you like a ton of bricks. I have never been to NY a day in my life, but I just visited Brooklyn and Harlem courtesy of K'wan's masterful writing skills!!This story hosts a hefty cast of characters, all colorful and relevant to the story. Yoshi and Jah, Billy and Marcus, Spooky Old Shooter and Reese, Don B, True and the Big Dawgz crew all return from the first novel. We also meet a new group of equally interesting characters. Dena Jones, Lazy (Dena's boo),her brother Shannon. Yvette,Mousy, Roxy and Sugar. Dena's crew Mo and Sharon. Sha Boogie and his mans Charlie Rock on a mission of revenge. Cold hearted pimp Black Ice and his "ladies". The Houston rap crew Stacks Green & Soda.There are many storylines, but believe me it all makes sense and links togther in one heck of an explosive novel!!!Hurry up K'wan and write another banger!!!

K'Wan's latest installment STILL HOOD delivers a grimy sequel to his earlier title, HOOD RAT. The story follows the lives of earlier characters as well as adding a few more. Of course there is excessive whoring, boozing, tweaking and hustling going on but what urban tale doesn't contain this disastrous formula? K'Wan goes about his story moving the characters around like pieces on a chess game with finesse although at times you get the feeling there are too many people to follow. Because there are so many characters - the development suffers and leaves you empty at times when you should feel more reactionary. Since K'Wan is one of my favorite urban writers he didn't disappoint me. Overall, STILL HOOD is an action packed read with many interesting characters.

This story picks up from the first hoodrat book, but introduces new characters. If you're not familiar with K'wans books, then u should know this story is about more than a bunch of section 8 scheming chicks. The plot also includes a up and coming rapper named True who has to deal with demons from his past. A young thug named Jah who is trying to cope with personal tragedy, love, and enemies who are continuously trying to give him a lead diet. These are just a few characters in this book which is another K'wan classic

I love all kwans books they are so real. This one was so juicy from start to finish. I cant wait to read the next 1.

This was an excellent read. I have read the whole Hood Rat series and honestly I can't even say which one is my favorite because they all were good. I think a lot of young girls need to read this book to show them what living in the fast lane can get you. I felt sorry for Dena, but at the same time she didn't want to listen. Jah is that dude. I don't want to give away the story so if you haven't read this book, then you are missing out on a good story.
