I love psychological thrillers!
This book is a great psychological thriller. Alice is getting married! N fact, it’s her wedding day. She is both nervous and excited, until she walks down the aisle and she doesn’t recognize her husband to be’s face! She is sure he is NOT her Seth but a fake Seth. Of course the wedding can’t go on! She can’t marry this stranger! She breaks up with him and tries to move on but things become even stranger. A great read!

trust no one
This twist was well worth it. When you think it’s over, you’re a little disappointed…until it keeps going!! Major surprise ending. And even more surprise after that surprise. I really enjoyed this one.

okay but…
Spoiler alert: im not giving it away, but you’ll be better able to guess the ending of you read this review.Story: girl falls in love with guy, they have a romance where he isn’t seen by her family or friends, then they get engaged. On the wedding day, she walks down the aisle but when she sees his face, she does not recognize the groom and believed him to be another man. Everything else points to this groom being the same man she dated. She remembers everything else (meeting, dating, his home, details of his life) just not him. Also she feels uneasy around him now.Review: The premise of the book is interesting because the idea of someone totally forgetting someone they know and love just isn’t really possible without some kind of damage to brain tissue, such as physical trauma, disease, or electroshock therapy. or preexisting severe mental instability. She wasn’t in a fugue, didn’t forget a period of time as can happen with trauma. There are various forms of memory loss, but the one and only thing she has forgotten is him. There is no period of amnesia, as may follow emotional trauma or drug use. Besides damaged brain tissue as described above, the other realistic explanation is that it is NOT that person. The setup is that of a psychological thriller. Not a sci-fi, not an action movie where disbelief must be suspended to accept a wildly improbable or unrealistic explanation for the mystery. This is where most of my problems lie.Problem 1: The big reveal should be psychologically thrilling - meaning the reader must be terrified that something like this could actually happen to themself or someone they know, in the actual real world where we live. Here, the author creates another alternative that isn’t actually possible in real life. It isn’t actually how things work. Asking a subject matter expert would have been a good idea.. like « hey, person who specializes in this stuff. Im thinking my big reveal is going to be that someone did this… could that really happen in real life? » Unfortunately, to enjoy the ending the reader must either not know that the big reveal is not actually possible, or must be the type of person who thinks « oh but it could happen » and therefore is ok with it (Which is fine in a sci-fi or action. In those genres we have people genetically engineered, or time-traveling, or able to perform medical or scientific feats that aren’t actually happening in reality). So that kinda was a bummer. I was hoping for some big mind-blowing twist that explained it all, and I was given an ending that wasn’t realistic.Problem 2) poorly integrated, obvious red herrings. Pieces of the story were clearly thrown in for the solitary purpose of giving the reader a theory to chase, but don’t otherwise enhance the story. Some almost felt like the author was like « oh lemme go back and put some little distractions in ». Not only do they not enhance the story, but at least one is over the top. To accept it would mean we have to accept that the protagonist not only is having this one weird thing happen, but also several other totally unrelated weird things happening.Problem 3) sooo repetitive. I’m 99% sure that I could have slept through the middle third of the book and not felt like I missed anything that mattered because it was the same content just retold over and over. All in all, I thought the book was OK - not great but OK - until I got to the end and it disappointed me so much.

Surprising ending
A good read. It gave enough information to keep me interested in the plot that had many twists and turns. I was very surprised at how it ended. The ending was very surprising. I never expected it. Romance, friendship, mystery and murder.

another girls book
Another girl book. Too much time spent on feelings, clothing and frilly feelings. Not enough time spent on developing a believable plot.

Twisted
This book was interesting and unusual. From the beginning to the end it kept me guessing. It had two twisted endings and when I read the last paragraph, I laughed out loud.

Good Read
This was a pretty good storyline. Lots of twists and turns, ups and downs….and sometimes just too damn wordy! Make sure you read through the total end! …it keeps changing!

Starts off great but ends with unbelievability
This was my Amazon First Reads pick for the month of May.It's finally here! The wedding day! Alice is about to be married to Seth. The man she loves and adores. Everything is going just as she imagined until the moment she walks down the aisle. The man standing at the alter is a stranger to her. He claims to be Seth and everyone else is in agreement. Alice doesn't recognize him though. Who is this man and what happened to the real Seth? This story started out with a bang. I was drawn in immediately and couldn't put it down. The more I read however, the more disillusioned I became. The problem started with the main character, Alice. As we delved deeper into the story, I found myself getting annoyed with her. She talks of the perfect relationship she has but then speaks of events that point to the exact opposite. There were red flags that she never addressed and it bothered me that she glossed over them considering the relationship she had before him. I won't go into more detail but it didn't make sense. Then there was the story itself. Although it starts out great and I found myself fully engaged, as we head towards the ending it begins to take a turn into something that I couldn't find entirely plausible. From there, it eventually derails into virtually impossible. It made me sad. This novel had so much potential to be great. The writing is good and you can really believe that she doesn't recognize her fiance. You can also believe why people questioned that. Although the character development wasn't as good as it could have been, I feel we got to know the characters well enough for the story. I honestly could have ignored the way she viewed her and Seth's relationship but the ending was just far too out of the realm of possiblity for me to enjoy.

Dyn-o-mite!
I loved every word. The "THEN" and "NOW" chapters work perfectly in this novel. I couldn't put it down. I found it so easy to follow, the storyline so well thought out, it all made perfect sense and the shocking ending was superb!!! Wow! This is a 'must read'. Shalini Boland never fails to amaze. It was brilliant!

Loved it!
What would you do if the man you were going to marry was suddenly a stranger? We follow how Alice Porter deals with this imposter and the fallout of events both before and after the wedding. I usually like to figure stories out straight away, but this had me hooked, and everything I thought...was wrong. Abit of a slow burner during some of the parts but altogether brilliant.

Very Ordinary
An average novel based on too many coincidences . Lacking credulous story line and full of untoward incidents the book falls in an run of the mill category.
