might have been better going down to the local athletic store for a simple preacher bar...
the rubber grip is completely unnecessary... but i am willing to overlook that in favor of the rotating ends. (although after picking it up once, my hands are still itching, making me question if it is rubber, or latex as well - oh boy)the tubes are unusable for me, because they are latex (allergies). (have NOT opened the bag because i recognized the style)and then there is the high price...i am not sure yet if the rotating caps are going to outweigh all of the issues i see with this, right out of the box.this could be getting returned in short order. in the meantime, excuse me while i go find the benadryl. >.>'

Excellent Gym for use Anywhere
After watching the videos for the XBar here and on YouTube I was interested in this but still had questions about using this product. I emailed the company with my questions and was pleasantly surprised to get my questions answered by the company owner, Damian Sanders. He even sent close-up photos of the product to answer my questions. I purchased the XBbar on Amazon as it was eligible for Prime shipping. So far I love this - it's very well made, heavy duty construction and comes with an instruction manual that's actually useful as well as a carry bag that fits the included resistance bands, door anchor and docking station. The website videos on XBar.com showing the exercises are well executed. You can also perform many other exercises not found on the website or in the manual included. Because the swivel ends are ball bearing construction, you can actually perform many of the TRX Riptrainer exercises with the XBar. At 6' tall however I have had to make some "accommodations" using additional equipment to use the XBar for some exercises where you stand on the band to perform overhead movements. I found a simple $10.00 solution using a pair of same size 12"/30cm sewn climbing loops (nylon or dyneema runners) attached to the swivel eyelets of the XBar. There are a variety of these climbing loops you can find on Amazon or at any sporting goods store that carries climbing equipment. I've included a photo showing how I do this. For those who've had concerns about attaching multiple bands at a time on the XBar - using the climbing loops on the XBar swivel eyelets gives you lots of space to attach extra bands to and the climbing loops are designed to handle lots of weight and impact. Hope this helps.

Its like a carry-on gym
Best for total body workout, good for frequent traveler like me. I bought one expandable tube container which could hold the XBAR easily and now I can carry it with me like a back pack. Its only 34 inches in length, and can be easily taken as a carry on in flight. I am happy that now I don't have to look for the gym on my frequent trips.

Best piece of exercise equipment I've owned!
Awesome piece of equipment! So far I have really enjoyed using this in my daily workouts! So much easier than my hand weights, and portable to boot! Product arrived very fast (Prime customer)! Wish there were more exercise examples, but I am happy with the booklet they sent with the bar! Buy it, you won't regret it!

Too expensive
The product is well made but honestly, it doesn't do anything much different that any other resistance bands. I couldn't justify paying $150 bucks for this when other products are much cheaper and do the exact same thing. I sent mine back for a refund.

Own personal gym at home
Efficient and extremely high quality...in your own home. Works so well that I discontinued my gym membership.

X-BAR
i've used it once - the bands seem light even doubled up. multiple hand positions are good, quality is good, seems sturdy.i believe it is over priced.the price pint should be 99.95, not 149.95 - that part, is a rip off.

Bye, bye (insert gym name here).
The Xbar arrived in time for my second week of P90X/Insanity hybrid, and after a week of using it along the workouts it has revolutionized my routine. I'll probably not replace my pull-up bar for this, but is sure cheaper than the monthly fee at the gym. I no longer need to go to the gym, I just hook up my pull-up bar, and load the x-bar and I am ready to rock.Pros:-Depending on your routine it can eliminate your need to own a gym membership-It has as much tension as you want it to have. (Personally I expanded my resistance bands with some BMP's resistance set, in case I feel too little or too much, as well as to have the individual handles to have more grip positions)-It works amazing for yoga, it dubs as a yoga block as well as an aid if you have wrist issues.-So far it seems pretty sturdy, but I am reserving that 5th star, until I finish my hybrid to see if it passes the test of time. Hopefully I'll come back here and add it once I am done, and my XBar keeps at it.Cons:-I am horribly afraid that at one point one of the resistance bands are going to snap while doing tricep extensions, or shoulder presses. I am 5"7' so I was surprised to find out that this was an issue, I read reviews from 6" guys who said it was tricky, but I was hoping it wouldn't apply to me.-Same deal with the push-ups, I am sort of afraid of bending the xbar while I am putting my weight against it in military push-ups or diamond push-ups. I haven't tried side to side, but I think it'll apply as well there.-I think someone mentioned this, but it is kind of tricky to modify your movements to have full muscle extension, but once it clicks you'll feel it; trust me.
