3M 2228 Scotch Moisture Sealing Electrical Tape, 1 in x 10 ft x 0.65 in

Bought this to protect my bike's chainstain and I've also used it to protect the cranks ends. It's very easy to apply and seems ideal for the job. Only put 4*due to the price (£24 for a roll).

Very sticky to seal off the electrical joint to prevent moisture and also I used it on my Mtb for chain stay protection.

Used this for a chainstay on my YT Jeffsy as the one that came with it kept coming unglued.It's still early days, but its been through a few wet muddy ukky rides and been hit with the pressure washer a couple of times and it's holding strong with no signs of damage from either the mud, water, or chain slap.It's quite an easy to use tape, quite malleable - although if it sticks to itself your probably not unsticking it.I also used this to cover a rub spot on my forks & on the rear of my frame as the bikes often rub against each other while in transport so normally we find a bit of cardboard or something but a slip of this tape on the forks/frame and it's pretty bomb proof.It's horrifically priced though, I'm sure there must be alternatives much cheaper.

Was looking for something to protect my new mountain bike frame from chain slap,heard about 3m mastic but struggled to find any at first..... Plenty of unbranded options around but reviews mentioned the tape not sticking on the edges.Well after cutting it to shape, wiping the paintwork with brake cleaner, I applied it with ease to mould it around my chainstay, follows all the contours and sticks like s@#& to a blanket!..... Very happy with my choice

Got this excellent black tape for mtb frame protection. I highly recommend 2228, was easy to apply. I used one box (£20) and cut strips and fitted side by side. It is maluble to seal together. Covered underside of all the bike frame, to protect against stone chips. Used on down tube and chain stay. Not bothered about weight of tape. Might be a pain to get off, but I will be putting new on.

This seems to do the job nicely. I've used it as a frame protector on my mountain bike at the chain stay. Goes on easily and sticks very well. I can't see it coming off.
