Hoosier Hill Farm Icelandic Kelp Powder, 1lb.

When i found out that my prize Pomeranian tested with a very low thyroid activity i wanted to try a natural remedy before going straight to medications. My vet recommended an Icelandic kelp product, i started using this and when we retested 60 days later his thyroid activity was within the normal range! I was concerned my picky eater wouldn't accept this change in diet, but it created a thickener to his dinner of hard food, soft food and yogurt. He loves it and it really worked for him, i couldn't be more pleased with our results, now all my dogs get this added to their dinner. It did not however increase thyroid activity enough in my breeding bitch, so she is on a medication, but still eating the kelp. Remember only testing and your vet can determine thyroid levels, but for a loved pet this was a solution to his low thyroid activity! I'm so glad i found this product and will be forever using it and recommending it to my clients as a great supplement to any canine diet. Benefits include nicer coat, increases thyroid and gives a pleasent thickener to food, even reducing slightly the amount i was feeding daily. Always consult your vet before using this or any supplement, but it worked for us! Thanks so much.

I love kelp!!! I usually eat about 3 tbsp per day, and this is a very tasty brand. (I tried ordering a different brand and the taste was awful -- I had to give it to my houseplants.) Thanks for the good product.

Very good in smoothies

Exactly what I wanted! Taste is a bit overwhelming if you add too much (I use a teaspoon of this in 2 cups flax milk) but can easily be covered up if you like Cacao powder (a heaping tablespoon does the trick). Awesome addition to my meal replacement and can feel the difference when I add it to my meal replacements in the morning. Judging by the taste/smell, this is the real deal and on the stronger side of kelp that I have experienced with (exactly why I got Icelandic) which I assume is due to its iodine content and other trace minerals found in Icelandic kelp powder. I have read a lot of great things about Kelp powder (health benefits) and do struggle with adrenal issues and this seems to help. Overall great product, and will continue to use this in my meal replacement!

Awful, just awful. It tastes like you're licking the outside of an oyster shell. I like seafood, but wow, this is just terrible. It'll completely dominate the flavor of anything that you add it to...even if you use less than 1 tsp. Terrible. I wouldn't even feed it to our dogs.

I purchased this product because I suffer from hypothyroidism and I don't want to take medication. I want to heal my body through food. I've been taking the kelp for a few weeks now, and I'm still not sure if it's helping. The taste is tolerable. Can get a little grainy when you add it to hot foods and a little slimy when I add it to my salad. I will continue to take it until I'm done with it cause it was quite pricey, but will not repurchase. So sad cause I had such high hopes for this. Took me over a week to make my mind up over this one a few others. Back to square one I guess.

So far I love this. It is a very fine powder, and is great to add to dishes. I like to add it to my eggs in the morning, sprinkle in veggies, or other dishes I make. It does taste a little "fishy", but what else do you expect with ordering this...I only add a few pinches, so you can't really taste it. I definitely recommend this for someone who is looking to get more minerals in their diet, but don't want to just take a bunch of pills. Even if it's just a few times a week.

If you’re looking for natural Iodine and Traceminerals this is the one for you!I’ve been taking this to detox bromine, fluoride and chlorine. My wife takes it for fibrocystic/painful heavy breast tissue disease and it works like a charm. Also great to fix your cold feet/hands (parathyroid Problem I think). And since it’s natural, whatever your body doesn’t use on any given day, gets pee’d out with the urine.

Excellent. The kelp powder only fills about 2/3 of the way up the front label, going from the bottom of the jar up. But, you only need a very small amount a day. Hate that it's so pricy, but love the quality.
