Got a Wii? Love RPG's? Get this!
I was a little wobbly about this game at first, and it really can be infuriating! Especially with controls not always reacting and it being really hard to draw anything resembling a straight line (there's a trick to doing that, however). However, after spending just a few minutes on it, I was smitten. After a few hours and getting an understanding of the controls, I was in love.Don't just take one look at the graphics and say "What the-? That isn't all that developed!", as I've heard some said. The game is made in a manner very similar to traditional Japanese art, which is actually more comfortable to look at in length than the harsher, more realistic graphic most games try to get.As I've already mentioned, the controls can be a little hard to get right, but with a bit of practise you go from groaning: "A monster? Oh dear god, no!" to cheering: "A monster? Awesome! Bashing time!" and from: "Is brushwork really necessary?" to: "Yes! A beautiful scene around the corner!" The latter is really lucky, as brushwork is a very big part of the game. Although it took me hours to learn how to actually use the brush (slow to learn these things), I'm happy I got the Wii version rather than the easier-to-control PS2, because it's so much more rewarding when you finally get it right.About those controls, it really pays of to read the descriptions, which is in both the game and the little booklet, if there's something you can't figure out (straight lines). And if you still have trouble with it, there's the internet.The plot is intriguing and the characters humorous. Don't derive yourself or any friends who might be borrowing (or watching you play) this game of the pleasure of owning it. If you're really impatient about such things as controls (they can be tricky, even once you've come to known them) perhaps you ought to get the PS2 version... ^^;

Okami - One of my all time favourites!
I cannot believe the little amount of advertising this game received when it arrived on the Playstation 2, and the Wii. I had never even heard of it until i saw it in my local Gamestation. I believe this, and this alone is why it hasn't reached the height of success that it really deserves!Throughout the game, you play as the main character Amaterasu (A Japanese Sun God), who is the white wolf you see on the cover. The game combines a vast amount of ancient Japanese fables to make the hugely enjoyable storyline. You explore the mythical land named "Nippon" which is the native name for "Japan", from the snowy mountains in the north to the sandy beaches in the south.Okami, to me, is like a different version of the Zelda franchise. You have huge environments to explore, things to collect, puzzles to solve, and the best aspect is that it's all played in real time. There's no turn-based fighting like Final Fantasy for example.I have been an avid fan of the likes of Zelda for almost fifteen years, and i never thought I would find a game that would rival it, but pains me to say,...I honestly have!Okami has such beautiful scenery and the traditional Japanese music throughout the game really compliments the gameplay. I can honestly say that i coud not find one fault with it.If you're looking for a gorgeous, funny, adventurous, simply amazing game, then this is for you. Not to mention that I managed to wrack up over one-hundred hours of gameplay before it finally drew to a close!Please, do not overlook this gem of a game. It deserves a lot more recognition than it's getting.

Great game, let down by the platform
Great story, beautiful visual style, and fun to play. I purchased this game for the wii thinking that the motion controls would compliment the features of the game that require the player to draw directly into the game. However, the wii doesn't often accurately pick up the motions you make (even with wii motion plus), and it can become rather frustrating attempting to draw a circle and have the game ask if you're an idiot for not being able to do so.It's an amazing game, but maybe better suited to a more capable console.

MEISAKU!
OKAMI is a masterpiece indeed!This is one of the very few games I coveted for years but could not play because it is not available for PC. Thanks to my wife's ...List to Santa there was a Wii waiting for her under our Christmas tree. And once there was a Wii in the house this was one of the first three games I ordered. And my expectations were met in every way.The first thing that grabs you are the graphics. If, like me, you are accustomed to the detailed graphics of most PC games, Wii games seem much more simplistic. Nevertheless, the colors and artwork of OKAMI are just mesmerizing! I am a great fan of cRPGs but this was the first time I relaxed playing one.This is an old-school cRPG, so there is no voice-acting. Nevertheless, this hardly has any impact on immersion. Playing OKAMI is like being in a Japanese fairytale - one that takes place in a HUGE, varied world. Forests and beaches, dungeons and villages, there is just no limit in the horizon.The sounds are soothing, the imagery magical and the gameplay ingeniously incorporating the Wii-Remote movements.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I thought i would love this game it looked my type of game.I done my research on it as you do and what a disappointment this game was.The controls are frustrating when having to point with the wii remote.You get so far into the game and think why have i wasted my time im god damn bored.So you put the wii remote down and play a different game ie zelda or mario zack and wicki etc now im putting games in your mouth CLASSIC games games worth playing.If you love platform puzzle type games go for them games.This is just my opinion buy it if you really want too but buy them games i mentioned first on the wii you will be a lot happier
