Circulon Elite Nylon Slotted Spoon with Coated Handle - Black

Good quality, good weight and very good value
A relatively long and large serving and draining spoon with its slots arranged across the bowl rather than (as most often) along it. The narrow slots have the advantage of reducing loss of smaller elements of food that another slotted spoon will allow through its rather wide slots. This is from the Circulon range, from which several items of cookware are owned, well-made and long-lasting, although moderately heavy which are characteristics this reflects.A thick steel rib extends from the spoon bowl to the handle such that resting it on the side of a pan is less likely to burn or melt the handle than may otherwise occur (several past examples were discarded for that reason).Pricewise, it is within the same ball-park as others among which this is the current favourite.

Plastic peeling away - but only from the end of the handle
I bought this to complement our Circulon Elite Cookware set.Just like the rest of the utensils in the set the server spoon follows the general design of the pans, however (just like with the rest of the set) the end of the handle is not metal, just metal effect plastic (the mid section is metal). This wouldn't bother me too much if after years of dishwashing the plastic coating wouldn't have started to peel away, revealing the plain white plastic underneath. This makes the item look a bit unsightly and cheap, which is a really a shame, for an otherwise great item.Functionality wise: the spoon is great size, does the job very well. All in all - if the looks matter to you, you might be disappointed after a couple of years. If aesthetics don't matter: buy it if the price is right!

Good Quality Tool.
Bought this to go with the new Circulon pans ordered. I know you can get plastic spatula's cheaper, but thought we would get a good quality one as the pans were not cheap ones. I am very pleased with this, it is slightly curved on the front edge so it can get things out of the frying pans easily as it goes right up to the edges, normal flat ones don't do this and make this action far more difficult. It looks very smart too and would look great hung up on a rack of similar tools. Not bought any other tools yet, but might just invest are they are very solid and good quality.UPDATE: Not so pleased with it now as the edge has worn down, and bits of plastic have come off, making it virtually impossible to pick up a fried egg out of pan now, as the edge has become too thick. I am fed up chasing the egg round the pan so have gone back to my cheaper ASDA one which still works fine for me!

Not full metal, otherwise great
I bought this to complement our Circulon Elite Cookware set.Just like the rest of the utensils in the set the spaghetti server follows the general design of the pans, however (just like with the rest of the set) the end of the handle is not metal, just metal effect plastic (the mid section is metal). This wouldn't bother me too much if after years of dishwashing the plastic coating wouldn't have started to peel away, revealing the plain white plastic underneath. This makes the item look a bit unsightly and cheap, which is a really a shame, for an otherwise great server.Functionality wise: the server is great size, does the job very well. All in all - if the looks matter to you, you might be disappointed after a couple of years. Little bit dissapointed...
Considering this is a Circulon masher, I was a little bit disappointed to find that it actually felt flimsy in my hand when mashing my tatties or carrots and swede etc...(in case you are wondering, yep they were cooked through)..basically, I noticed that when applying the natural weight down, the masher actually started to give way at the point between the base of the handle and the top of the moulded masher, for something that looks substantial, it doesn't actually inspire confidence in me, when I use it, that it won't suddenly buckle and give way, I hate to say it, but I have felt more confident using my £1 plastic masher from Tesco...shame really, because all my other Circulon kit, pans and all, are brilliant. I think they need to go back to the drawing board with this one? Don't know if anyone else feels the same?...

Metal effect plastic:/
I bought this to complement our Circulon Elite Cookware set.Just like the rest of the utensils in the set the flexible turner follows the general design of the pans, however (just like with the rest of the set) the end of the handle is not metal, just metal effect plastic (the mid section is metal). This wouldn't bother me too much if after years of dishwashing the plastic coating wouldn't have started to peel away, revealing the plain white plastic underneath. Good but not great
If you've seen my review of the matching Circulon Elite Soft Grip Nylon Slotted Spoon , you'll have a good idea what's going to happen here. This is a well-designed and well-made utensil, but it suffers from the oh-too-common problem of being prone to distortion when left in the bottom of a frying pan. If you have better discipline than me and would never do anything such as that, well congratulations and buy this turner because it is very good in every other respect. In the meantime I won't use metal utensils, and the plastic and nylon ones have this problem, so I either use wood, try to develop some form of mental prowess to prevent me from leaving the utensils in the bottom of frying pans, or await the development of a new material. I was kind of banking on the latter!

The plastic burns/ melts
this turner is terrible. When used to flip the plastic melts a little everytime so i always end up carving the food trying to take the little stripes of black plastic from the food. Super dangerous btw. Not worth the money. I’ve used cheaper ones and are way better. I expected lots more from this brand.
