AT LAST A CUBER/DICER THAT YOU CAN MAKE DOG FOOD WITH IN BITE SIZED PIECES
bought this from presto supplies on amazon uk. needed it only for cutting and dicing meat and offal for our 2 dogs. we spend days doing 1 months food at a time and it is a real strain on your hands to do that much cutting. that said the dicer attachment is worth the money alone! small cubed pieces that are done in seconds and not in hours. sleek and compact so folds away neatly and everything well made and not feeling flimsy or cheap. very well designed and made piece of kitchen equipment. - can't praise enough the help from PRESTO SUPPLIES who we purchased this from - very happy and so glad i found it!

Really clever piece of equipment. Once you've practised the various attachments are quick and easy to attach and are perfect for the job and I will be investing in other attachments. It's quiet and not too bulky but you do have to find space to store the parts you are not using - not an issue in my kitchen. It's great value for money in comparison to other products and I would definitely recommend.

Jack of all Trades good enough for us
This wee machine has been fab. I bought this a year ago and I think my original reasons for choosing this particular version of the MUM were: motor size, colour, and it came with the blender/chopper and mixer attachments that I needed (plus extra) Machine Not heavy, fairly easy to work out how to lift and lower the arm, attach bits and bobs, replace caps etc. I've been "sliding" (though I lift a millimeter or two) this machine in and out from under a shelf on my worktop for a year now and the feet haven't come loose or anything. (As a bonus, it looks fab against the steel-effect splashback and glossy white units and shelves that I have!) Attachments - space All the attachments fit into a 40cm wide ikea bottom (deepest) drawer. That's a lot of space to give up in a kitchen. I'll try to add a photo if I get a chance. Blender The blender is great - makes lovely smoothies and blends soup very well etc. If smoothie is too "thick" (eg, if I use too many frozen ingredients), I sometimes have to take jug off and shake it around a bit to make the smoothie "fall down" again. The mechanism/blades aren't stuck - it's just that the ingredients are pushed up and sitting above the blades and don't fall down because they aren't "liquid" enough yet. I have no idea if this is a smoothie issue or a blade/ jug shape issue. The mixer and bowl. Hmm, not perfect. Good, but not perfect. I often have to use a silicone spatula to scrape the ingredients towards the centre of the bowl or the contents will not be fully mixed (especially crepe batter, for some reason - always a layer of flour left around bowl at bottom...) I am not a baker (just a mum with four kids) so this does the job for me but, if you bake a lot, you might find this frustrating. Also, because it's so compact, it can be tricky to add more ingredients without getting the new ingredient all over the end of the arm (especially if an eight year old is "helping".) The "chopper". I have mixed feelings about this part. I mostly use the dicer (that yellow bit you see in the photo above though mine is grey) and I have to use the diagram in the leaflet to build it together whenever I use it so I wouldn't say it's intuitive to put it together. It dices to what I would call small, rather than "fine" and it does produce lovely little cubes. Ingredients do get jammed sometimes, and I have to dismantle somewhat and knock pieces back, through, or down again. To be honest, I only use this (and then face the washing!) when doing a major batch cook as the prep/wash time would cancel out the benefits of the reduced chopping time for anything less than a huge batch cook. I haven't yet used the slicer/grater. Might try the grater next time I have a large block to grate, actually. Also, the whole "pulse" thing that recipes tell you to do with a food processor? This doesn't do that as the blades aren't at the bottom. Once the ingredients pass the blades, they've passed the blades. They're not being processed - they are being chopped (or sliced) then dropped. Unless I'm missing something...? (Which I could well be, never having owned a food processor before!) The juicer, mincer. I haven't used so can't comment, sorry. Conclusion: This may be a case of Jack of All Trades, King of None BUT, this machine is worth it for me and our family. I wasn't willing (or able, actually) to give up space to three different machines in my kitchen, especially to a dedicated food processor. However, I use this often enough (daily?) as a blender and mixer to justify the space and it's great that I have it as a food processor whenever I do batch cook bolog etc. All in all, a worthwhile addition to a kitchen for a family of six where most foods are cooked from scratch. :-)
