I haven’t noticed that. I’ve noticed leaving OBS running causes the fans on my laptop to stay on. The digitnow doesn’t get hot when I use it.

Hello, no driver required.After the device is connected to the computer via the USB cable, it will automatically recognize and install the driver, and the driver can be used when it is correctly recognized

Q: I use video capture to capture streaming video onto a thumb drive for later viewing, will this unit record from firestick?

Never done it so I don't know for sure, but the unit is capable of dealing with 1080p and 720p signals correctly. As long as the Firestick's video output resolution is set to one of those standards, the video capture card should function fine. I don't believe it really cares what the video origination source is. It's simply looking for a video input stream that it can handle.
