Fantastic for the price point
For the longest time I've been fond of Dell Monitors - good colour, good viewing angles, style, etc. This one is no different. The Dell U2417H (24 inches, 1920x1080 @ 60Hz) is a fantastic monitor with exceptionally slim bezels and amazing colour. At this price point, I don't think you could find much better. This monitor packs professional features such as a USB 3.0 hub and Factory Colour Calibration (you even get a little report for that) that are very compelling, considering that most of these features are locked into monitors at £300 or above. The panel itself is actually deceptivly large, due to the unit's slim bezels. If you're looking for something more immersive, I would go for the 25 inch model at 2560x1440. It is more expensive, however. All this being said, the only issue I could find with the monitor is the backlight bleed. It's not noticable in all but the darkest of rooms in the darkest of applications. It shouldn't be too much of an issue, but if it is you should return the monitor FOR A REFUND. Dell sends you replacement monitors from it's refurbishment shops, so you wouldn't be getting a new one. Bare this in mind.Overall, this monitor has been a worthwhile purchase for me, providing me with exactly what I was looking for.

What happened to Dell's Quality control?
Firstly, and this isn't directly related to the monitor, but if you're looking at 24" 1080p monitors I would recommend experiencing one in person before buying. Unless you sit considerably further than arm's length away you will be able to see individual pixels if you have decent eyesight. This catches people off guard and can be very disappointing.Onto the monitor itself, I've experienced six of this model through work, my circle, and my own purchases. I ended up returning the one I bought because I was not happy with the quality control overall. I list the problems I've noticed:• Backlight bleed is very bad for a "premium" monitor. This isn't a problem in typical office lighting, but if you are editing dark photos, playing dark scenes in video games, or watching dark scenes in movies then it can be highly distracting.• White uniformity is poor. I've seen two of these with patches of blue in the upper-left area of the panel.• Bad pixels are common. On two occasions I've seen large patches of bright red/green subpixels in the upper-left corner. This is covered under Dell's manufacturer warranty ("Premium panel guarantee") however I would not recommend returning it to them as they will send you a refurbished replacement. Get a refund from Amazon/the seller.• The refurbished ones from Dell are terrible. My friend has had two refurbished monitors from Dell and both of them had terrible colours and some sort of blurriness problem ("pixel inversion/pixel walk"). I believe they're not calibrating/testing them thoroughly after refurbishment. On a positive note, the monitor's stand is fantastic. It has great height/tilt adjustment and the monitor can be easily rotated into portrait mode. The stand feels sturdy and there is no wobble if you tap the desk reasonably. Thumbs up for that at least. What sucks is that I have a U2515H at work which is a beautiful monitor. It has none of the above problems and was manufactured in 2015. What has happened in the past 4 years to send the quality control downhill so much? The RRP of this model was £310 - these issues are unacceptable for a 60hz 1080p monitor at that price point.

Limited shelve life, but served my faithfully for a food 4 years.
This monitor has worked well for me for nearly 4 years and I simply can't complain. The many output/input options are a big win for me. And saves valuable desk space.Unfortunately due it's age, I've had to now replace this monitor after increasing boughts of flickering. artifacts etc. However I expect as much from very heavy use after such a long time.
