It was crushed at one corner..Found that compressed wood is used and bamboo sheets are pasted over it....

They wash really easily. I like the different sizes for different uses (like the small ones for chopping a small amount of herbs, the larger ones for veggies or cooked meats). The grooves catch juices/liquids well.It's a great value for money & all the use for my family household daily use.
