Q: Hello... Does this preparation go straight from container to face, or does it need whipping up into a lather via brush & shaving mug ?

I have used it both ways, but mostly with a brush using hot water and a ceramic shaving mug to whip it up into a foam. You can smear a small amount on to your hands then work into your stubble, then use a brush to get a good lather. Found this product to be excellent for a good foam on the face with a slight tingle from the menthol and you do not have to use a lot of the cream so it last a long time. I do use the Proraso Professional After shave lotion after shaving.

Yes, the 500ml bladders are made of plastic. 150ml tubes are made of thin metal.
