Super bright light, RGB mode is nice, FX modes are also available.
The media could not be loaded. As you can see it arrives in a box measuring about 25.5x3.5x4 inches in size. So, there is a little bit of size here. Now let's open up this up and take a look at the light itself.Opening it up we see a nice travel bag inside wrapped in a plastic bag. This is a fairly nice-looking nylon zip up bag. There are two zippers and a Velcro-like connector for the two handles. I'll separate the handle and unzip the bag, and on the inside, we have the instructions. Which is a single side of a large piece of paper. We then have two other zippered sections inside the main bag. The first has two metal lanyard mounts and the power supply that can charge or power the light. We'll set this aside for the time being. We'll open the next section which has the light itself, which is also in a plastic bag, which I'll remove. The light itself measures about 23.5 inches in length with the lighted section just over 15 inches in size. We see the control buttons on one end and the on/off slider at the other end. They also placed instructions in sticker form attached to the light between the switch and control board. This way you don't have to worry about losing them. There is an integrated handle to hold the light. It appears the light shipped partially charged so the light was functional right out of the box. It is easy to turn on and off with the switch.By default, it was in the CCT mode, set to 8500k color temperature and only 1% brightness intensity. The dial allows you to easily adjust the settings. Turning up to 100% I can feel a little warmth beginning on the housing. There is a lot of light. I'm going to dial this down to 20% for now.Clicking menu gives us some additional settings. The skip ahead/behind double arrows quick change settings by 10. It is easy to go to RGB/HSI and FX mode easily with the push of a button. To jump between fields, you simple press the dial in which serves as a button. Now in RGB/HSI mode, we'll set to 0 degree which is RED and confirm the skip buttons still change the color by 10 degrees with each press. The CCT range is 2500k (warm) or up to 8500k (cold/daylight). This light is very easy to use and allows you to put the light wherever you need it. You also have a standard mount if you wanted to add to a tripod. The other end of the wand has DMX control ports and the barrel charge port. I'll drain this a bit and we'll take a look at the charge rate.Plugging in the wall charger, and I wanted to make a quick note that there was a crack n the plastic housing by the power switch. It does NOT affect the light in any way and is just cosmetic damage, but you'd think for the high quality of this light that the crack wouldn't have passed QA. This does not affect the light in any way and I'm not going to seek any kind of exchange because of this but wanted to take a note of it.Plugging in the charger and we 21 watts as measured with my kill-a-watt. The control screen then shows a charge indicator. The instructions do state a 30-watt charge and discharge rate. which I was not able to achieve. When using the light plugged in and powered up, I never saw the kill-a-watt show greater than 28 watts.I did not notice a difference in charge rate if the light was warm or cold. I only observed the 21-watt charge rate which is more than sufficient, but a bit under the stated 30.I'm happy with this light but a little disappointed in the QA miss on the crack and the slower than stated charge rate.I'm rating this RGB light wand four out of five stars.Pros- Gets BRIGHT- Easily adjustable and controlled with on-light buttons- Handy OLED display showing current settings in use- Comes with a nice carrying bagCons- Arrived with a small crack/split of plastic- Observed only 21-watt charge rate vs 30 watt stated
