Tom Clancy's Op-Center: God of War: A Novel

unimpressed
I have every one of Tom Clancy's books and it not only saddens me but angers me that unknown authors are using his name in bold print to sell the books they have written and which do not even bear any resemblance to the way Tom Clancy wrote his books. I cannot believe publishing houses and indeed Amazon permit this to happen. Clancy was a great author and his books always excellent to read and enjoy. None since his death and all still showing his name on the cover come even near to the way in which he wrote. How any author with a conscience can write such books showing a great author's name and then have a pitiful story inside is beyond comprehension. Seeing "Tom Clancy" written in bold on the cover of a book will from now make me ensure that book is not purchased. Not the kind of tribute to a great author I wish to read

Tom Clancy's Op-Centre - Acts Of War with Jeff Rovin
Typical Tom Clancy novel. Excellent read with espionage as a base subject. Recommended.

Decent read
I haven’t finished this book yet - about halfway through - and it’s a decent read with a somewhat timely premise considering our current global pandemic. It fits with the earlier Op-Center books and with the restart of the last couple years. However, one big glaring mistake is that the author and editors seem to have forgotten that November in the Southern Hemisphere is heading into summer, not winter. My reading of the story is that there are indications of it being cold and wintry. I know the majority of the story takes place in the subantarctic and would be expected to be cold-ish in the summer, but even the parts set in South Africa seem to indicate it’s cold. Oops. Other than that, so far an enjoyable read.
