Not only is the Taser the best out there, the flashlight is very well made with a red light, a medium brightness cool white light and an extremely bright high beam. The flashlight is pretty much a flood beam but on the brightest setting it has a nice spot in the center of the flood. It is plenty bright enough to temporarily blind an assailant in darkness. The battery, I was most impressed with! I fully charged it with a USB -C cord overnight and the next night put the light on its brightest setting. It took over 4 hrs to fully discharge the battery while having to turn the flashlight back on several times because of an auto shut off feature after a fairly long period of time. The light did not get hot to touch during the whole time discharging the battery. The Taser continued to work and l believe maintained its strength throughout my discharging of the battery. It does have a battery level light going from green fully charged to amber to red for low battery. I had been looking for a high quality taser for sometime and have bought just about all of them I have seen that looked like quality products. Several with flashlights combos. This is really the only one I have purchased that is truly high quality and above and beyond my expectations! Now, it is very expensive for such a product but to me very well worth it. I will be purchasing more for ones in my family. Good temporary protection from unruly animals to unruly people and a great companion to a Glock!

I bought this for when I take evening walks with my wife or drive around the city. We've encountered a few sketchy people who can be... very aggressive. I've used the random brand $40 stun guns before to NO EFFECT -- I just kept pushing the thing into a stupid mugger and it didn't do ANYTHING. Someone wrote in a review that it was like being stung by a bee -- and I tried it myself, and they were right. My friend suggested I take a look at Taser. So first the Strikelight is not the same as the one you see Police using (taser, taser, taser!) -- this is a stun gun with a lot of power that's made by TASER Axon (which I learned is an American company, who knew we made things here anymore) and it has a flashlight. They didn't call it Lightstrike, they called it Strikelight -- which helps me remember it's purpose. It's about the thickness of a car steering wheel (easily wrap your hand around it even if you are small-made), easy to carry in a jacket pocket and the weight is about 2 phones. There is a little hand strap that you can attach if you want. The white and black color combo looks nice -- when you're holding it, only the white parts shows so it looks like an ordinary flashlight. Now for the real deal... The inside of the box says "The most advanced energy weapons on earth" and the people that make this didn't come to play... This doesn't shoot darts -- you have to be right on someone to use it. Like when you're in your car and someone walks up to your window to talk trash about your Prius -- make them feel the Strikelight! When you're standing in line at the Cajun food truck and someone gets so close you can smell their lunch, from yesterday -- make them taste the Strikelight! When you're walking alone and coyotes or unleashed dogs start getting their ears down and snarling at your pups -- make them hear the Strikelight! This thing has a menacing sound like lightning crackling in your hand and sends the wild things scurrying! This has happened twice to me! And this Strikelight is sturdier than a brick made of... more bricks. You can knock a few molars out if your feeling feisty. It has a flashlight too. One press for the low beam, another press for the high beam, a third press for the Red light -- which I thought was a gimmick until my cat ran away and I needed to see better in the dark while crawling through rose bushes and dog logs in freezing weather. She was not even thankful for me rescuing her. Don't get cats my friends -- it's just an abusive relationship waiting to happen. There are 2 buttons and 1 slider switch. The first button is to change the flashlight modes. Pressing the second button does nothing. Nobody gets the sparx. The stun feature is only "active" when you move the slider (see my video). The second button is to actually activate the stun and does not interfere with the flashlight. I like that there is this safety feature or else you could stun yourself through your jacket picket. Battery is rechargeable. There is a USB-A to USB-C cable but not a charger brick -- but I have a few of those around. In conclusion ladies and gents... I didn't understand why this thing was so much more expensive than the other stuff I saw on Amazon. Until I tried it on myself because I thought it was just another bee. I just did it. No countdown. No last will and testament. And lord almighty -- I think I saw the Pearly Gates. It was INTENSE! This think punches like an electric Mike Tyson, and I would not want to be at the other end of the sparks. My cat and dogs just laughed, maybe they planned all this. Now I dare my friends to try it so they can see the afterlife for one second. Strike with the light people! Update: it's been a couple of weeks since I wrote this review. I have been using this on evening walks with the dog but there was nothing eventful. But yesterday evening when it was getting dark, a pitbull-like dog approached us and began growling at my dog. I was using the taser strikelight as a flashlight. At first I got scared and fumbled for pepper spray but it was in a different bag. And then my dumb self remembered the darn thing I was holding! And oh boy that loud crackle (like a mini lightning strike) did the job! That pitty got the heck out of dodge so fast!

I wanted a genuine Taser product and I got one here. A few other reviews made it sound oversized or heavy but it's actually quite compact like a small flashlight and solid as one would expect from a serious tool. It's well built. It's got a great light with excellent switches, a grippy hold and a wrist lanyard for retention if you want it. I finished charging mine to 100%, practiced a few times with the controls, saw and heard a very satisfying and impressive crackle of electric current, and checked the stats to be sure it holds a long charge -- it can fire 5-second bursts 100 times between recharges. This puts the cheap import toys to shame and is exactly what I would expect in terms of value for a genuine Taser brand weapon. And yes, the literature does refer to it as a weapon. It's not a toy. In fact it will probably be your primary flashlight and you'll have the added security if you ever need it. Charges in a couple hours with USB cable. [Update: I just bought a second one in the white color.]

I bought this taser in good faith, expecting it to last for years as an important part of my personal safety. Unfortunately, after only 4 months of occasional use for testing, it completely stopped working. It no longer charges, and the light won’t even turn on. I have treated it carefully, stored it indoors, and never dropped it, so there’s no reason it should have failed this quickly. When you buy something for protection, you need to be able to rely on it in an emergency, and now I can’t. This is unacceptable for the price I paid, and I feel unsafe without a working replacement. I hope the seller or Amazon will stand by their product and make this right.

I like the flashlight portion of this product. I still don’t feel safe with this thing. I feel like any regular taser isn’t effective since you’d have to make contact with whatever is attacking you. I guess just the noise itself could deter most humans! It’s a good quality though with a nice weight. Very easy to use and holds a good charge. Overall I wouldn’t buy it if I were you. There are other products for way better prices
