Delicious and healthy soup
These soups are better than anything I could make myself. So much healthier than store bought soups in cans or boxes. The ingredients are much healthier and less sodium. And you will not find these flavors anywhere else. 18 Chestnuts takes sustainability in mind from beginning to end. This is my to go convenience easy to grab and easy to make lunch for me to take to work. If I have leftover roasted vegetables I add that as a topping. Absolutely delicious! I bought these as holiday gifts for my son and his girlfriend and they loved them too. Great gift idea for people in your life that have plant based or dairy free diets. Highly recommend 18 Chestnuts soup!

If you enjoy trying new stuff, try. I found it really lacking in any flavors, spices or Food Excitement. Dang, if this is the way that food’s are supposed to be selected & taste, after Health Scares, please kill me now.Apologies to creators-Texture & Seasoning!! Just suggestions. Happy Holiday’s

Healthy Easy Lunch
Love these soups!! They are such a delicious and filling meal. It’s also great to microwave for a minute and be able to enjoy easily in a mug or thermos too. Highly recommend. I am going to have these in subscription to get them every month since an easy meal.

Soups Made With Incredibly Clean Ingredients But Only One Was Pleasant
The first thing I noticed about the 18 Chestnuts trio of soups is how much care they put into packing the three soups. The three bottles were placed in a box that could safely include at least 6 bottles but they gave each bottle a visible space around it coupled with Styrofoam pieces in the perimeter surrounding the bottles. Each arrived intact and without any issues. The three flavors include Asparagus Shiitake, Butternut Squash Pear, and Red Pepper Pomodoro. The bottle labels themselves made the soups appear to be very high end products like those found in specialty food shops. When reading the ingredients list they are all recognizable and pronounceable items. Each bottle includes two servings so it was the perfect size when making a lunch for two of soup and half a sandwich or a salad. I was really excited to try the soup and started with the one that I thought would be my favorite just from the ingredients, Asparagus Shiitake. The soup had a lovely green color similar to split peas and was easy to pour into a pan and heat. My first sip caught me off guard because it was incredibly sour. It bothered me enough that I read the ingredients list immediately. Vegetable stock, asparagus, sweet potato, portabella mushrooms, peas, leeks, shiitake mushrooms, garlic, olive oil, salt, onion, spices, ascorbic acid, thyme, citric acid, truffle oil, and Kosher salt. I tried the soup again. The sour flavor dominated all the other flavors and these were vegetables I love - asparagus, portabella mushroom, shiitake mushrooms, and peas. And oddly, it didn't taste like either asparagus or shiitake to me. If you asked me the flavor without prior knowledge of the soup name, I wouldn't be able to tell you. I was so disappointed, I couldn't even finish the soup. I came back a few days later to try the Butternut Squash Pear. I was expecting a balance of sweet and savory flavors. The lovely warm orange colored soup was sweet and ended on a very sandy/grainy texture from the pears that wasn't pleasant. The ingredients include vegetable stock, butternut squash, pear, carrots, fennel, sweet potato, monk fruit sweetener, flaxseed, olive oil, salt, onion, spices, garlic, ascorbic acid, thyme, sage, Kosher salt, and citric acid. I am not sure if the addition of the monk fruit sweetener pushed the sweet notes too far since the soup already includes carrots and sweet potato which bring naturally sweet notes. I finished it but having the sandy/grainy notes be the last notes was not the way I wanted it to end. The last flavor I tried was the Red Pepper Pomodoro. Of the three, this soup was the most balanced and pleasant. Perhaps it is because it reminded me of tomato soup. The ingredients include water, organic tomatoes, roasted red peppers, leeks, sweet potato, artichoke hearts, monk fruit sweetener, olive oil, vegetable spice, basil, flaxseed, ascorbic acid, and Kosher salt. It was smooth, tasty, and paired lovely with a grilled cheese sandwich. To take it to the next level, I added a splash of heavy cream and hot sauce. When it comes to price, I found this soup to be on the high side for three bottles of soup totaling six servings. I understand that it is an incredibly clean product but based on the flavors I have tried, I honestly cannot justify the cost. Sadly, out of the three soups, only one soup stood out as memorable and repeatable for me and there was one soup I just couldn't even finish. The product is Non-GMO, low glycemic, plant-based, and gluten-free. It is Made in the USA. I really wanted to like these soups more given how clean and how allergy friendly this product is but I just wasn't a fan.

Beautiful presentation, disappointing soups
I’m vegan and a soup lover. I make homemade soup weekly for my family to enjoy. This 18 Chestnuts soup trio looked like it was going to taste so good. The colors are vibrant and the overall presentation is beautiful. Each of the soups were very sweet and acidic tasting. Sadly, I did not enjoy any of the flavors. I was really looking forward to the Asparagus Shiitake and finished it to not waste it but it didn’t taste good. The soups come in glass jars and they arrived very safely (see photo). For the amount of attention to detail that is in the packaging, labeling and unboxing experience I was surprised that the soup wasn’t amazing. The price is high for just three jars of soup, even if I did like the soups.

Odd flavors with very little punch
The good things about these soups is that they have some unusual flavors.Asparagus Shiitake - This was a sweet soup that I thought was just an odd flavor. Not bad, just not something I really cared for. It needed a little more salt maybe to counteract the sweet. It was just kind of plain.Butternut Squash Pear - Also a sweet soup, too sweet for me. I like butternut squash soup, but I like it savory. I don't think this one had enough seasoning. After a few spoonfuls, I added a few drops of hot sauce, a pinch of salt, and a little pepper. That made it better.Red Pepper Pomodoro - The best of the three, but it was like a homemade tomato soup - not smooth. It was OK, but again I added a pinch of salt and a couple drops of hot sauce.OK, I guess, but I didn't really like them very much. They are currently priced at $13.33 per jar. I can't justify paying ten bucks more for a bowl of soup than a can of Progresso. These just weren't that much better.
