I bought these on a bit of a whim, having been advertised mushroom coffee for some time. The packaging/branding is nice, and the pods are good quality. It's very important to me that the pods are compostable (which they are).Taste is great. It might be the marketing/psychology doing its job, but it did feel like a slower releasing, longer lasting effect than "normal" coffee. Less of an initial "kick", but a noticeably long tail effect through the day.

​I've been using these pods in my De Longhi machine, and thus far they have worked perfectly - no jamming and capsules perfectly punctured. The fact that the pots are recyclable is definitely a factor in their favour.That, I'm afraid, is the extent of the "pros" - everything else is downhill from there.It delivers much less "coffee taste" than my usual coffee pods - my current favourite is LaVazza espresso maestro, where you can smell the coffee as it is being poured, and see a dark brown stream coming from the nozzle as the drink is dispensed. With this "mushroom coffee" there is no such aroma,the liquid dispensed is a pale beige, and the coffee taste is only a fraction as appealing as the Lavazza.I didn't detect any of the mooted "health benefits". No bursts of energy, no slow burn of caffeine entering the system during the morning, none of that. I'll defer to the experts, but from my purely layman viewpoint, this is "smoke and mirrors".The last nail in the coffin was expense - own brand nespresso comes in at around 60-70 pence per pod, Lavazza comes in at around 50 pence, Amazon own brand comes in at 10-20 pence per pod, whereas this drink comes in at 99 pence per pod. If it were astoundingly flavoursome or energy inducing, fair enough, but paying LOADS more for a product which aspires to being average is just silly.Not recommended.

I am a big fan of mushroom coffee but so far it all has tasted to be honest nothing like coffee. This product really does and you get the kick of coffee with the added health benefits of drinking mushroom properties regularly. Well worth the purchase and the pods made it as easy to use as any other coffee pods in my Nespresso machine.Great product.

It's definitely more watery in flavour compared to other Nespresso compatible capsules.I don't know if it increased energy but you don't feel the jitters as much as you would with a stronger based coffee.

burnt taste, there is no difference between the 3 tastes. Much more similar to Robusta than Arabica. Did not like.

Having tried multiple mushroom coffees over the years, I have always been disappointed with the taste, which is usually a cheap, instant coffee.So I’m delighted to have stumbled across OYL and their Nespresso pods.A really great-tasting coffee with no mushroom flavour. Interested to see how it affects and improves my training endurance.Love the branding too!

Decided to try this coffee after noticing so much positive coverage on mushrooms / Cordyceps. First of all the taste is fantastic, very smooth and preferred to my normal Nespresso Starbucks pods.I like the way the caffeine hit is a slow release over time rather than one that causes jitters.Really enjoying this product and would recommend!

This is a small quantity (10) pack of Nespresso compatible coffee pods, which unfortunately isn’t reflected in the price – they are VERY expensive. The flavour and taste is pleasant and fresh, with a discernible chocolate hint, but overall doesn’t quite hit the spot in the way many others do, and lacks the satisfying intensity as well. This actually tastes a bit more like instant coffee.I should note that this is based upon the product, it’s taste, convenience and value. I can’t comment on the supposed health benefits, which to be honest, I take with a very large pinch of salt.The pods fitted perfectly in our coffee maker (not Nespresso, but designed for Nespresso / Dolce Gusto coffee pods), and are compostable, which is good. There are no product markings etc on the pods, which is odd.The coffee doesn’t leave an overly bitter after-taste, but it does leave one. Unlike others, there is no recommended setting for the amount of water, so you just need to take a view. We like with a little creamer, so tried accordingly.Coffee pods are extremely convenient, enabling good and fresh, proper coffee, without the hassle of making using beans etc. However, at £1 per pod, ludicrously expensive, and no way would I pay that.All in all, pleasant enough, nothing special, and hellishly expensive.I hope that you’ve found this helpful.
