Interesting but not like NAM
A book of its time. I enjoyed the read as I have read a lot about the Vietnam war as it was on the TV when I was 19. The contributors (not all) were very concerned with the injustice of their treatment by society whilst treating the Vietnamese as almost a sub human species. Read with other books it completes the picture of that war and period

A moving tribute.
Extraordinary stories. It covers a wide range of professions and experiences. I highly recommend it. A difficult book to put down. Respect is due to all those who put up with so much. Humbling. Actual accounts tell a harrowing history.

A captivating book
Of all the books that I've read on Vietnam, this is quite simply the best. If you're interested in the conflict then look no further than this book. These Afro American soldiers come from a cross-section of the American forces (from grunts to high-ranking officers). The result is a deeply rich, personal and fascinating insight. Thoroghly recommended.
