Vikings: Season 4 - Volume 1 [DVD] [2016]

Another whinging fest on this one.It's becoming common for the cable networks to run a shows season over the normal timespan of two old fashioned seasons.This is contracted under the title of a single season.The number of individual episodes is usually about equal to 2 seasons.(Exactly equal in this case) How does that translate to a consumer rip off.? I'd rather not wait for two years between releases so my disc cover has the word complete on it. (But then again dumb is in full swing-witness Trump and Brexit- stupidity has gone international) BTW the season is very well done.

I've now seen Season 4 part 2 via prime, but can't wait for the August release. After a low-budget but excellent season one, this series has exploded. Well acted, great (and fairly accurate - I was a medieval historian at uni) superb action. Utterly Brilliant. Like Game of Thrones for real. Vies to be my ultra fav box set collection, and each series just gets better. The scenes of the siege of Paris in 4.1 have not been bettered, even by luminaries of the big screen such as Ridley Scott.

Was Dissapointed because of a faulty disc 1, got in touch with Amazon and within 2 days they had sent another copy free gratis to replace the faulty copy, So very very happy bunny. I think the series slowed down at this point because they had to bring Paris into the equation. but i'm looking forward now to part 2 in a few month to complete the collection, Incidentally, anybody who loves vikings will also love "The Last Kingdom", Thanks for the quick response Amazon!!!

Very strong fare with bloodshed in plenty, as ailing Ragnar strives to remain supreme. Again his sights are firmly on Paris, which his estranged brother Rollo vows to protect. Meanwhile Ecbert, King of Wessex, has eyes on Mercia.Cue for changing alliances, treachery, devastating battles, not to mention matters mystical.Certainly not for the squeamish or the easily confused, it sometimes hard to follow exactly what is going on. (A "previously" to start off the season would have been very helpful indeed.) An impressive cast works hard to make us care for characters not very likeable (it often a matter of indifference who wins yet another deadly confrontation). As ever, weird Floki particularly makes his presence felt, he rightly made to suffer for what he did in Season 3. It is Rollo who steadily gains sympathy, a bonus explaining how much he has become a man transformed.Again impressive action sequences, not least a mind-boggling new method of transporting ships.The season's Part 1 has ten episodes, two with commentaries. Part 2 is available and Season 5 commissioned(For those also following "The Last Kingdom", it is worth noting Ecbert's young grandson is Alfred.)Overall? A convincing portrayal of brutal times and clashing beliefs, it cause for relief not to have been living then.

A long wait for season 4 and not disappointed a bit😀 the dvd arrived impeccably packaged a a morning I was actually off work sick so a whole day spent on the safe attaching every glorious episode back to back.I am not 1for a box set and really TV in general but this series has me hooked. It has it all, humour, sex, drugs, family, love, authenticity beyond any movie I have ever seen, superb writing, world class acting and award winning direction.YOU MUST WATCH THIS

Great story, if a bit violent. If the violence in Game of Thrones is too much for you this will be too. However, great fun to look up the history and see that Paris was indeed sacked by the Vikings and much of this and the characters are based on fact. Very well acted too.

I know the price for this dvd was a bit ridiculous like a lot of people have stated in their reviews,but I have to give the film 5stars because it was brilliant what more can I say than the best yet cant wait for part 2

Endlich gibt es mal wieder eine geniale Serie, die man anschauen kann. Es hat nicht nur geschichtlichen Hintergrund, sondern ist so gut gemacht, dass man sich richtig in diese Zeit versetzen kann. Aber das gilt nur für die Originalfassung in Englisch, sie ist leicht zu verstehen, kann es jedem nur empfehlen, da die deutsche Version nicht die Emotionen rüberbringt.

Je confirme qu'il y a bien la VF et les sous titres français sur cette édition (Vikings - Season 4 Part 1 [Blu-ray] [Import anglais) même si derrière le boitier du blu ray est marqué qu'il n'y a que de l'anglais en audio et en sous titres.A part cela excellente demi-saison , du même niveau que la saison 1 & 2 & 3 !

Spedizione veloce, dvd arrivato nei tempi previsti, e prodotto ben impacchettato. La serie è molto bella, il dvd è solamente in inglese. Vedere la serie in inglese è secondo me più bello, la recitazione di alcuni attori in lingua originale è spettacolare.

Das Produkt ist einen Tag vor der vorrausichtlichen Lieferung angekommen und war ich einem einwandfreien Zustand. Leider war ich zu doof in die Beschreibung zu sehen und habe erst jetzt gemerkt, dass es nur auf englisch ist. Das ist allerdings mein Fehler. Trotzdem sehr zu empfehlen, wenn man sie auf englisch schauen möchte.
