Good mystery book
My granddaughter chose this book to write a report on a mystery. She is in 4th grade and enjoyed it. We did explain about witness protection and DNA experimentation so she could understand the book fully. She recommends it.

Great book! Highly recommended
Anyone we likes Sci-fi and mystery this book is great for you! Danger, friendship and secrets. Couldn't be a better combination. It gets scientifically intense closer to the end but other than that is a very intriguing book.

Couldn't Even Finish My Book Report
I was assigned this book for school reading project, and I couldn't even finish it. Now because I didn't want to do the book report, but because of the book itself.I don't read books often, but I can say without a doubt, this is book is SO MIND-NUMBINGLY BORING. The description sounded really cool, but the book was far from that.I don't care about anything that happens to this main character because she is downright annoying! The two best words to describe her as is "angsty teen." That's all she is. She's not cool, or interesting, all she does is complain the entire book.Near the end, I just couldn't read it anymore. The agent sounds like any mysterious agent ever. It sucks because the cover art is so pretty, but you really can't judge a book by its cover.I could just be biased as I was assigned this for school, but I genuinely don't like this book.

You'll never geuss the end from the start.
This takes quite a sharp turn once it gets going and that makes it more riveting as a read. Katrina (her latest of many names) has limited memories and lives with her parents. All three are constantly on the move for reasons she believes are related to them being in a witness protection program. Their latest stop has them at a rough-it campground, living in a decrepit RV. After she makes friends with Parker, a boy in the foster care system who is an accomplished computer hacker, she is put in a situation where she has to rely on his skills and friendship in order to stay one step ahead of the people who grabbed her mother and want her as well. What follows is high adventure where the two kids must trust each other as well as a mysterious man who claims to be a friend of her parents. It involves high seas adventure, outwitting multiple bad guys and a discovery that is at first nearly impossible for Katrina to wrap her mind around, but all ends well, albeit in a way you never could have guessed at the beginning.

High stakes, action-packed MG thriller
Katrina and her parents have once again relocated to a new hiding place, this time in Georgia. Her parents have told her that being in the Witness Protection Program is tough, and they have to be very careful about blending in. When her mom is suddenly taken and her dad disappears, Katrina fears the worst and embarks on a rescue mission with her new friend, Parker. Along the way, Katrina realizes they are in more danger than she ever expected, and the secret her parents have been hiding has nothing to do with the Witness Protection Program. If she wants everyone to make it out alive, she will have to learn and accept the truth.Christina Diaz Gonzalez has a stupendous gift for writing middle grade thrillers. Just like in Gonzalez's MOVING TARGET series, the plot is fast paced and involves travel (though not as international as MOVING TARGET). The reader immediately feels how high the stakes are with Katrina's parents and herself being at life or death risk if/when they are discovered. Even though Katrina knows how serious the situation is, she also feels a natural push back to all of the rules and wants to keep her name longer than a few months and make friends.Katrina is a wonderful protagonist that I was rooting for from the first page. She's clever and loyal, and even though she knows that the truth might be painful, she still tries to uncover it anyway. I like her growing friendship with Parker as well. He understands what it feels like to be alone and uncertain, and together, they make a great team.Readers looking for an action-packed, high stakes thriller with a memorable protagonist will find a great read in CONCEALED.

Love this book!!
I just read Christina Gonzalez’s Concealed. I will begin by saying that I absolutely loved her YA gem, The Red Umbrella. That being said, I was expecting a great read. But nothing could’ve prepared me for the thrilling and exhilarating ride that lay ahead. I can’t be too specific on plot, because I would be giving something away. The action and surprises begin immediately. By the end of Chapter 1 you’ll be captivated. But chapter 2 soars. And the rest will leave you breathless. If you love intelligent narrative, twists and turns, shocking surprises, and rich characters, do not miss this one. I highly recommend it to everybody who loves to read a great work of smart, suspenseful fiction.

A surprise at every turn!
As a language arts teacher, I am always looking for books that will motivate both my reluctant readers as well as my bibliophiles. This book did not disappoint. I love the character growth and the edge of my seat excitement. My students will love seeing a book that has a portion of the book taking place in their city. (Shhh… no spoilers!!)
