Practical and valuable information for parents and caregivers on exposure therapy
Exposure Therapy for Children and Adolescents provides useful tools for parents and caregivers, along with realistic expectations and mindful guidance. Applying significant evidence-based practice, this book delivers realistic methods to identify anxiety disorders, phobias and OCD in children and adolescents, and offers valuable direction in seeking professional help, when necessary. Delivering understanding behind fears and behaviors, the book presents the importance of Calming Yourself First and becoming aware of self-composure. Breaking down the science behind fear, to include rational and irrational fears empowers parents and caregivers to thoughtfully assist children and adolescents when making the decision to incorporate exposure therapy. Offering holistic options and alternative therapies, outside the scope of pharmaceuticals, is a critical step in the behavioral healing process. Creating a Calming Family Environment is another key illustration this book defends when working to manage anxiety disorders, phobias, and OCD. I appeal to parents and caregivers, in recommending Exposure Therapy for Children and Adolescents, as a valuable resource in helping your child or adolescent control their anxiety disorders, phobias and OCD, and move forward in experiencing a better quality of life.

Very informative and an easy read.
The media could not be loaded. I bought this book because I work with children and I love to further my acquisition of knowledge in the field. I’m familiar with the methods described in the book as they were simplified for even a beginner.

Anxiety does not empty tomorrow of its sorrows, but only empties today of its strength.
The writer's quote from Charles Spurgeon "Anxiety does not empty tomorrow of its sorrows, but only empties today of its strength." is enough to get one's attention to the serious matter our societies are facing, and the impact it'd have on the coming generations. In summary, the book presents how in just 10 weeks, exposure therapy may help your child gain control over their phobias, anxiety disorders, and OCD.

An accessible resource for parents.
Im still reading this book, however I have found it informative and easy to ready so far. As a very tired parent I find some books inaccessible, but that has not been the case with this one. Raising children in the 21st century has many challenges, but the after affects of a global pandemic and isolation will run deep for many years and we won’t fully know how this will present in years to come. This book aims to educate and equip people with the right tools to deal with fears and anxiety, so these tools can be passed on to children. It’s not about magically curing and no longer having any fears or anxiety, but recognising it in ourselves and then going to the tools that helps us. Understanding the biology and psychology, unpicking what we can.References and sources are cited. It’s one approach, but makes an interesting read and quite thought provoking. If the last few chapters are in the same vein then I will leave this review unchanged.

Useful Resource
If you are worried about your child’s anxiety this book could help. It gives guidance as to what you can do at home and reminds that you may need to conquer your own anxieties first I found Chapters 7&8 the most helpful as they deal with the actual subject matter of the title, exposure therapy ,and what to expect .
