It worked for me (eventually)
Good price for the quantity and easy to spread, I just couldn't get this brand to grow for the life of me. I've purchased grass seed in the past (different brand), and it was much easier to grow. If it suddenly sprouts up, I'll return and update this review, but if after 3 weeks its still the same I'll just buy another brand and try again. UPDATE: I initially thought that I had expired or bad seed, but it is growing now. It seems to take a little longer to sprout, maybe it's the blue stuff they cover the grass seed in? Anyway, it took some time, but it worked for me.

Beautiful Green Kentucky Rye
I planted this seed after raking up all of the dead grass and then seeded the 40 sq feet by hand. Afterwards I placed top soil over the seed so that the birds wouldn't eat the seed. I watered the area every morning and after 10 days I could see the grass rising from the planted area. This grass is very green and is growing at the rate of my normal grass. It has been 3 weeks and I am still watering this area once every morning and it is growing very well. I still have 80% of the seed left and will use it in the early Spring on other areas in my lawn that require seeding. I would highly recommend this grass seed/fertilizer mix as I am very particular and want to make sure the new grass grows and looks the same as the rest of my lawn. Good luck!

Not sure if it's worth the money.
I bought this brand because it's supposed to be good. It even says it has coating to keep it wet longer so it will germinate faster. I did my side and back lawn or should I say dirt? Well, I watered it like it said in ad every single night for one month. I even soaked it because we are in a drought right now to make sure it stayed wet and at night so the sun wouldn't dry the water up.Even made pools of water after 2 weeks of nothing. Making sure it stays wet. Still nothing! I don't know what to tell ya! It's sure taking its time. I've owned my home for 31 years. Had to seed a few times. Cheaper brands only took a few weeks to come up. I reread the bag. It says it might come up in 30 to 60 days. Are you kidding me? Two months of watering every night? Now a water band is on so I stopped watering it. I can't imagine tying myself down to rush home for two months every night to water a lawn that might not come up at all. Oh well I guess I'll see what happens now and update if there is a change.

Decent Kentucky Bluegrass seed
This seems to be a good price for 7 pounds of Kentucky Bluegrass seed; even better than the bulk bins at the local farm store. In my ongoing battle to eradicate all the unwanted grasses in my lawn, I've used this same seed for several years now. Those pesky weed grasses need to be completely killed with poison (RU). This is good for reseeding the dead patches and overseeding the area to build a nice lawn. Plant when temps are cooler in the spring or fall. Kentucky Bluegrass seed needs a lot of water until established, especially during the first season. After the grass is more established, water only as needed to allow the root system to strengthen and grow, reaching deeper into the ground. Weeds always happen, so those are to be expected. This is a good product and I will continue to use it.

Water, Water & Water, or go with something besides Blue Grass
The grass is coming up, but slowly. Kentucky Blue takes a lot longer to germinate than most grasses, and during that time needs a lot of water. I overseeded my lawn and fertilized a week later, so that the old grass didn't grow and choke out the new seedlings. I wish I had waited two or three weeks, because the new grass is growing, but it has to climb up through tall grass. In the attached picture, I placed 10 seeds on a piece of paper towel. There are 6 seeds that germinated. KBG seeds are very small, so 60% of the seeds in a bag, is a lot of seedlings. The bare spots in my yard are filling in gradually. The new grass is still a light colored green, but I look forward to seeing it once it matures, and turns "blue". All in all, very satisfied so far. My process- Core aerator in two directions (perpendicular) Spead the seed using a rotary fertilizerv spreader (two directions) Watered 4 times a day for 10 minutes Fertilized with "starter" fertilizer a week later I did mow after two weeks from sowing seed, the lawn was just getting too tall. I am pretty sure that this is going to work out well. Product was easily within best by date, no regrets. Follow up, Now a year later, I am not all that impressed. Part of that is because the fall was very odd here (Northern Michigan) in 2021. Little snow, but cold and windy and very hard on young grass. A lot of winter kill all over the county, so I can't say the seed is at fault. However, the bag says 3 pounds, but 50% of that weight is filler/fertilizer, so I actually needed to double the amount of bags, inorder to have an acceptable overseed coverage. Just offering a "heads-up" if you decide to order this seed. I plan to overseed again this fall, but will be using a different bluegrass. The cost will be comparable, but the number of seeds will be doubled.

Waste of money and time!
I followed the directions exactly and watered the area every day for three weeks, but not a single blade of new grass grew. Instead, the only thing that sprouted was a bunch of weeds. Before using this product, I didn’t have weeds in that area, so it was extremely disappointing to see weeds grow while the grass seed never germinated. Based on my experience, this product was a complete waste of money, and I would not recommend it.

Almost none of the seeds germinated.
Used it to seed a new small size cold season lawn. I am a seasoned gardener and have green thumbs. Practically none of the seeds germinated. Maybe 1-2 % germinated but they too were very weak to begin with. Scotts seeds used to be good but this pack was terrible. All the money wasted.
