Teaching the Actuality of Revolution: Aesthetics, Unlearning, and the Sensations of Struggle

A short, dense, and relevant book for education and revolution
Among other marxist educators like Darder, I read almost everything Ford publishes. I must say I think this is his best book and agree with McLaren’s note in his review of it that it’s the first book of his that has a real conclusion. They bring together different topics in an accessible and productive form to produce a theory of teaching as unlearning for an other aesthetics, a pedagogical exposure that shows the world can be and actually is radically different than we think. I liked that most of this seemed totally new and there weren’t many parts of his previous work that carried over. This is the book I’d recommend to anyone new to Ford’s theories.
