I use these on all my computer equipment that are not currently in the usb ports. they prevent the tips from getting dusty or get that annoying build up on the surfaces. Great for gaming controllers, portable usb sticks, and even charger cables that still use the usb ends.

Flexible material (not hard plastic) that snugly, but not too snugly, slides over the business end of a USB stick. Keeps crud out of my USB connector pins. The cap ends do not have a lanyard post or hole. It works correctly and is perfect, nothing else to really say, except I like them and you will too.

DUST & DEBRIS ARE SOME OF THE WORST ENEMIES OF ELECTRONIC & ELECTRICAL DEVICES & CONNECTIONS. Spare yourself the aggravation as much as possible. These are wonderful dust & debris protectors. They fit snugly over connector, and you never have to worry about them falling off. I sometimes drill a small hole through the center, and attach a lanyard with a small plastic washer & tiny amount of E6000 adhesive; to prevent lanyard from pulling through the hole. For the lanyard I use Micro 90 Cord – M90 – Nylon Paracord; tensile strength 90 Lbs; is not easily freyed. It comes in several solid colors, but I always choose a color that does not show dirt or stains so easily. Generally, you can get it in 10, 25, 50, 100, & 1000 Foot Sizes. These do seem durable and quite capable of doing their basic function of protecting the USB plug.However, these are unexpectedly thin and flimsy. This has a couple of drawbacks. One is that they're harder to pick up from my desk and put onto a plug than a plastic cap. More important though is they're too hard to remove from the plug. I experimented with doing that quite a few times and decided the best way was to insert my thumbnail between the base of the cap and the drive before removing it. Even then there was simply too much yanking going on and I felt like it was going to yank the plug right out of the drive after removing the cap enough times.I'd only recommend these caps if it's critical to you that the caps never come off by themselves (e.g. in your pocket or luggage or whatever) because they won't! You can't say the same thing for a plastic cap.
