Q: Can you explain the difference between the tdp-6, the tdp-6s and the tdp-6t? what does the suffix on these machines denote?

Thank you for your question. We can't advice TDP 6T because it isn't supplied or manufactured by LFA Machines, but I will be happy to help you with the TDP 6s. The TDP 6 and the TDP 6s take different sets of tooling, with the 6s being most common. The TDP 6s from LFA Machines takes the same tooling as the TDP 5 due to our new TDP Universal Tooling. Although in principle the TDP 6 and the TDP 6s are very similar, we continuously improve our machines so we supply LFA's TDP 6s and recommend this one for better reliability and so we can better assist you.

Q: Can you tell me what the maximum fill is on the 25mm punch

Hello, the fill depth is the same for all tooling sets. It determines how much powder you can fill inside the centre die. In the case of the TDP 6s, the maximum fill depth is 16mm, so you can achieve a tablet thickness of maximum 6mm.

Q: can this machine be used to make 3mm diameter boric acid tablets?

We recommend making tablets over 4mm in diameter because it can exert great pressures and the smaller the diameter, the thinner the punches will be, so if they receive more pressure than they can handle, they could break. As the diameter grows, the punches are thicker and therefore more resistant to the pressure. Acids in general can damage the metal of the tooling, so we recommend coated or resistant tooling.
