My middle son is the most difficult person to shop for. Any gift I buy him is left unused, even the things he asks for.For Christmas, he asked for stuff to make magnets with. He was thinking magnet backs and a laminator...but I remembered how cool the band pins were and started researching button makers. Professional ones are usually extremely costly, but I looked closely at the specs for those and after searching reviews across the internet, I found that this model aligned with the specs almost identically to a well reviews professional model that was 4x the price. Metal. Manual production. And this one comes with extras.It felt like a big risk but he was surprised and excited to use it.The button maker was very well made. Much more solid than I was expecting. The pieces all fit together well, aligned well for the action.It took us more that a few tries to get the right pressure, but after reading the instructions a couple of times and a little practice, we were producing professional quality magnets with old magazine ads. Don't be discouraged if it turns out crappy buttons at first, it was definitely user error for us!It came with a ton of supplies; precut clear plastic and button backs...a lot. We've had it over a year and still haven't gone through everything.This could be a good investment for somebody and is certainly fun. I felt like my money was really well spent and will probably buy another one for myself.

This device has been working great since we got it. We’ve made hundreds of buttons of varying sizes and it has not failed us. I did upgrade to better cutters for the paper design inserts, but the hardware itself is top-notch.

I first need to state that this is a great button maker. It's well made, easy to use and very sturdy. I'm giving it a low rating for the reason that follows....After a few days of testing and making several of the larger sized buttons, we switched over to the smaller size and discovered that the transparent protective films for the 25MM were missing from the box.The two options through Amazon were 1) return the whole item, or 2) contact the manufacturer. Since we already used quite a few of the supplies for the larger buttons, and it was only a small pouch of films that were missing, I decided to contacted Vevor.I worked with their customer service department via chat/email. They verified my order with Amazon and offered two options; 1) The would send the missing items from their supplier overseas with an estimated 2 - 3 weeks delivery time, or 2) Return the whole thing to Amazon. As I mentioned above, I did not think that a total refund/replacement was necessary since the missing items were so small, so confirmed that I would wait for the missing films.3 weeks later, still no replacement, but I did get an auto-generated email from Vevor stating that since they never heard from me, they would assume that the issue has been resolved and would be closing the ticket in 24 hours. I contacted them immediately and re-explained the whole ordeal. They responded with "I'm sorry that we can't contact the technical staff to reissue the accessories for you, please contact Amazon as soon as possible to refund you."So, now I'm back to square 1. I still don't feel right about returning an item that 1) I like, and 2) I have already used so much of the supplies. But I also don't think it's right that they will not work with me to find a solution. I've found that if I were to purchase the missing items, through amazon, it would run me $25+, so it looks like I have no choice but to send the whole thing back.WHAT A PAIN! And a total waste of resources.

I really like the design of this button maker. It is easy and fun to use once you figure out how to use it. We’ve enjoyed making buttons with it, and the buttons seem to be a great quality. It was a great value for such a heavy duty piece of equipment. Buy it, you won’t regret it!

It was a joy to make buttons and magnetic pins for a club and a middle school. Kids and adults are forever entertained making personable and individual gifts. Use a hand drawn picture or a photo, the kit is heavy and made with metal and strong quality plastic made to last and geared to work right the first time.

Really nice for the price! It's very easy to get started, and making buttons with the machine is very addicting haha. I've been having a lot of fun trying different papers and printing out designs. I also really appreciate the extra panda designs it came with-they're super cute and great to practice with. The first few you make aren't going to be perfect, but after some time it becomes a lot easier (make sure you line the designs and backings up with the arrows; I totally missed this and didn't understand why everything was misaligned at first). It's a little tricky to find the right amount of force to push down with. Too much seems to make the paper crease at the edges, and too little makes the clear film bubble up. I did eventually manage to get the hang of it though and now it's fairly easy to make a bunch of smooth buttons without issue. Overall it's a great machine at a much lower price than other brands.
