I am a huge Fist of the North Star fan. This is an alternate telling of the main story going up to the Souther arc focusing more on Raoh than Kenshiro.Animation is great. The new dub is fairly good. This new blu-ray release by Discotek is a must buy.

I still can't believe they finally dubbed this in English. One down four more to go.
First off, I'm a huge fan of Fist of the north star, aka Hokuto No Ken. I have the entire original series on DVD. I even have the three-episode OVA miniseries produced by ADV on DVD, his brother Raoh series. I also have this film alongside the other four in Japanese with English subtilties. That being said once I found out this was finally going to be dubbed in English, I jumped at the chance to buy it. I hope they continued to keep doing these. I'm just glad they are finally showing this series some love here in the US. After watching it they did a really good job with the English dub. If I was to say anything negative, I had a minor issue with the person that dubbed the Raoh character. Other than that, I loved it.

Looks great, I still prefer the original 80s version of the series, and wish they would do a English dub instead of this one. This series seems more condensed than that one. It's still cool and look forward to seeing the rest of the series in English.
