Bought Rustoleum because historically they offer far better coverage than say Krylon or other brands. But it took nearly 3 cans per pot to deliver a uniform texture and color. And they still have spots that did not recieve enough product. An expensive lesson, not sure I'll use it again. I believe it would eventually deliver, but the amount of product needed vs. the cost isn't adding up. Review: As some reviews stated, this runs out quickly. Had a metal bar stool that the arms were well worn. The can lasted for about half the stool. The paint is so thin if you hold it less than two feet away it will quickly run. Obviously by spraying two feet away much of the spray is going into the air and not hitting the stool. Once dry it did not even cover. You really need to paint the item first with a complementary color and the use this product to add texture. Will need at least three more cans to do two coats. Even then I am not sure it will cover. What a waste of money. Update: After adding another coat the stools looked beautiful. The product dries to a nice finish. Feels like fine sandpaper. While it still did not cover, if you are painting something that is close to the same color you can miss spots on purpose to save on paint and will not be able to tell the difference. I have a smooth black railing. Would love a color** A: Is the surface glossy? If glossy I would lightly sand then wash, prime and then at least a couple coats of paint. If it’s not glossy I would clean it well then prime and at least 2 coats of paint. I used to work in the paint department of a lumberyard and learned a lot about the importance of proper paint prep. It makes a huge difference. It may take longer but it will save you a lot of work down the road as your paint job will hold up much, much longer. **Q: wouldn't it be a HUGE time-saving help to shoppers if they had drop-down menu of colors, texture, finish?** A: If you want a better selection of paints i would just order from home depo or walmart... on amazon this stuff gets upwards of 50$ a can for no reason. **Q: Would you recommend this paint for bathroom faucets?** A: I would not recommend it. I have had trouble with it peeling and chipping off prematurely. I used it on a swing which is in an outdoor covered environment. It seems it just doesn't adhere very well. **Q: Can this be used on a rock wall outside?** A: I don’t know. I used it on metal after a prime coat.
