Very pleasant smell, but don’t expose the whole air freshener all at once
I enjoy this smell but it, like many of these type air fresheners, can be strong quite strong at first if fully exposed so I use it the way those ‘tree’ air fresheners are supposed to be used: Just cut open the middle top of the clear wrapper, fish the hanging string through, and each week give or take, lower the clear wrapper to expose more of the air freshener. Cut/trim the clear plastic as needed to be able to do this, and when it gets too weak, then just remove the whole thing. If used this way, it’ll last longer and not be too overpowering all at once. These do cost quite a bit so that’s a question you have to ask yourself if it is worth it but should you spend the money, at least make it last a bit longer.

I like this scent
This thing comes on strong when you first get it out of the plastic. I hung it in my car and left my windows open in my two car garage. It had my whole garage covered within no time.Luckily it settled down pretty quickly into something that was the dominant scent in my car but by no means overwhelming. The scent itself is very nice yet hard to describe (at least for me). It is something of a masculine floral smell. As other reviewers have mentioned I think it would make sense to partially open this and expose it little bits at a time so it will last longer.I'd give this 5 stars for the scent but 4 stars overall since it is already starting to wane after about a week and at $12 for one it is on the higher end of cost for an air freshener.

Weak Scent
I have a friend who raves about the Dedcool line of unisex cologne/perfumes. I've never tried them myself but the I think the one she wears all the time smells good (I think it's called Milk). Seeing that they have air fresheners now I figured I give one a try. Red Dakota sounds like it'd smell good to me so I picked that one. When first opening this air freshener I carefully pulled the card out of the plastic as to not expose it all at once like I do with Little Trees. I hung it on the rearview mirror of my car and left. When I went back to my car later I couldn't smell anything so I ripped the whole card out of the plastic. Even with the card fully exposed the scent is not very strong. Other reviewers are saying that the scent is very strong so maybe I got a bad one?Now on to the scent itself. I don't really like. It almost smells good to me but there's one note in it that smells like bad body odor or something.I think twelve dollars is a bit high of a price to pay for one paper air freshener. If you already like Dedcool's Red Dakota you'll probably like this. Hopefully the one you get won't be so weak on the scent.

Scent is fine, but did not work for closet
I ordered this to use in my closet. It is a regular size (non-walk in), and I wanted something I could hang that would keep it smelling fresh. I can't smell it at all even though it is advertised for closet or drawer use. The scent is fine and I'll probably try it in my car, but I already have an in-vent freshener that I like in there. A bit disappointing for the price to have practically no smell unless you are actively sniffing it. Maybe I got an old one or something?

Smells great
This air freshener has a lovely scent. I smell the bergamot for sure. It is more of a woodsy scent with a hint of floral gardenia in it. Very nice for any vehicle or wherever you chose to place it. The price is a bit high for what you get but if you got several in a pack, then it would be worth it. The design of the air freshener is gender neutral.

Personal preference
This is a high quality, very fragrant air freshener, but it's just not my personal favorite. I have Taunt in my car right now, and I love that one. It definitely makes the whole car smell nice, but it's not at all overpowering. I feel like this one may end up being too strong for a small space. I currently have it in a ziplock bag, but I may actually let it air out a bit before it's time to use it. I like the smell, but I don't love it. I think it leans a little more masculine; it's not quite men's cologne, but less floral than what I was hoping for. I love the scent of gardenia and I think it gets a little lost here. Overall I still recommend it, but it really all comes down to personal preference. You won't know if it's for you until you smell it!

Smells wonderful - crisp ,fresh, woodsy
Ordered this with my spouse's somewhat funky closet in mind. The scent (Red Dakota) sounded pleasant and not floral or perfume-y.The orange was the first thing I smelled on opening the package, followed by a woodsy undertone. The overall effect is fresh and crisp.Added it to the closet - and now we wait to see how long it lasts. While I appreciate the recycled nature of this - for the price (12) it better last a long time.5 stars for now, based mainly on the really nice scent - will remove stars if it doesn't last long enough.

Good Scent but Weak
This does a good job mimicking those absurdly expensive designer air fresheners, so if you are just looking for "the look", this does a fine job. However, as an air freshener it isn't a great solution. The scent itself is fine, unoffensive but mostly forgettable. After opening the scent last only a few days before fading to maybe 50% intensity. This is weaker than a "little tree" but arguably has a better fragrance.
