Be aware, it needs more seasoning. I followed their seasoning instructions, wiped out the “soot,” then used plenty of tallow the first few uses. Just cooked scrambled eggs with no sticking. I had given up on cast iron because of the weight—tennis elbow. I can manage this easily. Glad I tried again

Please for your own sake, don’t run this through this dishwasher. Although it may say dishwasher safe, don’t do it. That’s how people end up with oxidized skillets (aka rusty). And don’t ever let it soak in water. You can use water to wash but you’ll want to dry it immediately after. I wash after every use, dry it and heat it on the stove to remove the moisture. These things are a learning curve because they don’t behave like your typical Teflon non-stick but once you learn, you’ll be better for it. There are plenty of helpful resources online to teach you how to work the wonder that is the cast iron. I got the 6” because I only use it for myself but definitely size up if you’re cooking for more than 1 person. It says pre-seasoned but I seasoned it twice more before use, and it’s been perfect for me. I’ve used it for steak, eggs, bacon and chicken with no issues. Good luck and happy cookin’!

I have a more traditional sized cast iron pan which I love but I wanted to try making a "Dutch baby" German pancake and it was just too big for one or two servings. This smaller pan is ideal for that and for making eggs or a single hamburger when I'm cooking for myself. The preseasoning was nice but was still a bit gritty feeling so I did and additional seasoning on the pan before I used it for cooking food. The Dutch baby (think yorkshire pudding) came out perfectly and did not stick. Very happy with this pan.
