Nicely done, good mix of projects
Sometimes I like to look at project books just to trigger my imagination. I generally prefer to make my own designs. This book has a decent selection of simple to harder projects, mostly in the small range. Gave me some good ideas.I read through quite a bit of it yesterday and the details provided are very good. I did have a few issues with it though.First, the cross references are not very helpful. They point only to the chapter/heading but provide no page number. That means I had to either flip through pages or go back to the Table of Contents, find the referenced section, note the page number and then go there. That is not very efficient or helpful, and I do follow cross references a lot, in line with reading, so I was disappointed with this. One example is on page 85, the instructions in step #15 where is reads "...as shown by red arrows on the template." Though it's obvious to me now that I know, I had not looked at the Templates section yet and I had no idea in the moment what this was referring to. I kept looking at the photos on the adjoining page, used my reading glasses to get up close wondering, where are those darned red arrows???!!! Once I realized it was referring to the design templates at the end of the book and found the one for the Corner Panel, yep, I found the red arrows! But, why not say something like "...as shown by the red arrows on the Template on page 121." ?? Also, when looking at the Templates section, there is no reference back to the instructions page. Under each Template name (e.g., Corner Panel) there should be a "See page xx." statement). To me, this is a serious oversight by the publisher/editor.I also found that there could have been a bit more explanation at times, like why you should do a thing. I can't remember now the couple situations where I bumped into this but both times it stopped me as I sat there re-reading and wanted that key info which was not provided. I realize that these format book isn't going to give every last detail but these were key items that absolutely should have been stated. When I look through the book again later, I'll update this review to include those examples if I remember to do it.''As a whole though, I found this to be a good instructional book that actually is better than quite a few I've looked at in its detail. The step-by-step photos that accompany the step-by-step instructions are generally very good and the photos are numbered to corresponding to the step number which is very helpful and appreciated. For me it is worth the cost of the book. I can find lots of inspiration in the form of pictures, videos, and articles online, yes, but sometimes I want to just sit back and hold a book in my hands and have a look. This book will be on my bookshelf, ready to be grabbed when needed. I would have given it five stars if not for the cross reference problems.

Nice designs, some issues with kindle version.
This book has cool designs, and is just lacking some detail and information. For the kindle version, you have to sign up via email with another company to access the templates, which is frustrating, but I did get them eventually

Brilliant books for beginners
I bought this book after going on a stain glass wildflower course, it’s A lovely book for beginners, explains everything in detail, tells you all the equipment you need, which I’ve found to be essential, like the motor size for grinders, wattage for soldering iron etcIt’s has some lovely projects, I’ve started on one and can’t wait to try others out, especially the terrarium.I’d definitely recommend this if your starting out like me

Very disappointing
I don't often write reviews, but I was so disappointed in the quality of this book I felt I had to.I can handle a typo or two (and there are at least three that I counted in my first read through), and honestly, I wasn't expecting an encyclopedia of stained glass techniques, but this was so poorly put-together, vague and disorganized that it's difficult to learn much from it.I got the impression this was written in a weekend--very little detail, no page numbers connecting pattern instructions to templates, pictures that are often not helpful (the square panel with the brass tubing is a great example), a really REALLY pathetic index...she mentions mirror sealant, de-oxidizing spray, but lists no brands, no examples...I could go on. And lastly, I do not need to be told to not copy other people's work--that was just annoying.I do not recommend this book to anyone.
