Final Fantasy VIII: Squall's Griever Necklace in a Final Fantasy VIII Gift Box

Excellent quality! Exact replica! I love the weight of it. It wasn't bent. Don't believe the bull crap everybody is saying. I bought a new chain for it before I even bought the pendant. Because of this, I cannot comment on the quality of the chain. However, the chain I bought is the kind that Squall wears in the game, and if you're willing to buy that chain then you have the exact necklace that he wore in the game and it feels pretty cool to wear!

This necklace is pretty solid and has a little bit of weight to it, so be prepared. The necklace is also very wide as the real necklace was, so that's a plus. The necklace, however, is not stainless steel and will rust, but the Griever piece on the end will not. I eventually took it off the necklace and it's on my keyring now.

Box was heavily dented, necklace was just loosely thrown into the box with no foam padding inside, so It naturally had a lot of scratches on the necklace as well. The chain is pretty thick and the piece itself is hefty. It has a nice inscription on the back "Sleeping lion's heart" but the words "CHINA" scrawled all over the back kind of kill the cool-factor of that.

Yeah it's kinda cheap and to good to be true,the only thing original from the picture is the chain,it doesn't come in the box like it shows in the picture and the "Griever" is made out of cheap metal that BREAKS EASILY, I thought it was an original SQUARE-ENIX item but it's not, instead of making the Griever out of Diecast they should had made it out of Stainless Steel,so if you are wondering if you should buy it then the answer is NO,unless the Griever is made out of Stainless Steel instead of cheap Diecast then go right ahead, otherwise be warned...

I am only giving it a 4 star because of the chain that comes with the pendant. The pendant is awesome and a good weight as described in most other reviews. The chain will star discoloring as soon as you start wearing it though. The chain is 24 inches long and about 2 mm in size. Fortunately, there are nearly identical stainless steel chains you can get on Amazon for about $13 with shipping. In all, I spent 18 dollars total for something I plan to wear for many years to come!

The packaging was wrong, got a FF7 sleeve with it, but the Griever pendant is beautiful and very detailed. It's about 1 inch in length and as another reviewer said, it has some weight to it. The chain I received is a different type than what's displayed in the picture. It feels sturdy, about 18 to 20 inches in length.As a huge fan of Final Fantasy 8 and Squall's character, I'm very pleased to have finally gotten some memorabilia. $5 very well spent.

This was a great buy and it gifts well.

The necklace itself is great. Has a nice weight to it, painted well, no mistakes or sloppiness. It did however NOT come with the gift box, which is very disappointing because I was looking forward to using it to store the necklace, instead it came poorly wrapped in flimsy plastic. Overall.... Not bad I guess.

Significantly smaller than one would think it'd be, though. Measures approximately 1.85 x 1.3", or 4.7 x 3.4cm (which still makes it sound bigger than it is, given that it's not just a square block).Also, it's only engraved on one side. If either one of those two things weren't so it'd be 5/5.

Awesome griever necklace, quality is high for the price. Wouldn't want to wear in public but hangs on a corner of a mirror and looks great. Sometimes wants to twist up the chain and not face forward quite right
