This fits my M1 perfectly and helps keeps the cleaning rod from damaging the M1 muzzle. This is highly recommended if you own an M1.

Those that say the part that goes towards the barrel is off centered are not using it correctly. It is designed to notch over the lower part of the barrel and correctly centers upon the bore so you cleaning rod does not damage your barrel end. Great product that does what it is supposed to do.

Does not fit the new M1a precision rifle which has a muzzle break. I’m sure it works great on standard M1 grand and M16 and M1a

Solid Build quality

I got this for our first M1 Garand. Its bore was pretty neglected, so I knew it would need a very thorough cleaning. I got this bore guide to help protect the muzzle/crown while cleaning. The only gripe I have is that getting a patch on a jag through is a very tight fit. I generally use a smaller jag for the caliber I'm cleaning, while using a decent sized patch. I wasn't quite able to do that with this in place.

This component is outstanding for holding your cleaning rod straight to prevent damaging the barrel. Steel on steel will damage the barrel and most of the WWII cleaning rods are steel!

I like the fact that it twists (counter-clockwise) to lock onto the barrel. But the opening isn’t large enough to bring the patch or a brush through it so you need to remove it with the rod to remove the patch.

Product works good.
