Came with a nice carrying box for travel.
It actually warms up a little when I transfer lots of data. The speeds are as fast as described. Pretty great modular solution that offers fast access to memory. The fan seems to only come on when the device reaches a certain temp.

Great device
The only complaint i have with it is its really big compared to what it really needed to be. Thinner fans with the same air volume are on the market for the same price as the fan they used about 1/2 as thick. and the shell is on the thick side for aluminum as well. It could easily be reduced to 1/2 the thickness or near enough. Other then the size it keeps the m.2 drive super cool and improved the function of it stoping the constant drops from getting to hot during large file transfers. Was easy to install drive in and the carrying case (its large for a portable case) is well protected.

Perfect Drive 4 Movie and TV Production
Top performer, elegant design. I use this for DIT, editing, movies and TV. I even used it in dual configuration and I get almost double the bandwidth. In Adobe Premiere and or DaVinci it handles 6K and 8K files like butter. I went through several drives and this one is absolutely is the best. Why? One cable no need for power supply or wall power fast, reliable and no thermal throttling. I have had other drives that slow down after it’s 30%-50% full this one does not. I tested them all and this one really rocks. Blackmagic Drive speedometer clocks at almost 2700 and nearly doubles using two drives when using two thunderbolts connections.

Overheats, drops connection. Fan only works sometimes.
I've had this for a couple months now. I've tried Samsung and Crucial drives in it. The drives work, but any load longer than a couple minutes overheats the enclosure board (the SSD is fine). This results in dropped connections. I've swapped cables, ports, laptops, all the same issues. Haven't tested speeds but recommend looking for a more reliable enclosure. The fan isn't worth it.

BIG and HEAVY. No way the drive can ever overheat.
The size and mass alone makes the fan unnecessary. I wasn't able to get it to heat up enough to spin. I could hardly even get it warm. Still, not bad. Solidly built with nice extra carrying case too.

Se calienta mucho más que la que tengo con ventilación pasiva causando que se apague. La conección usb C no entra completamente en la apertura C de el case y provoca desconección del disco.

Well-made, includes everything you need, unfortunately requires tools
This is a well-made adapter and it's nice that it includes all the tools, adapters and cables you need to use it with your SATA or NVME SSD and with either USB-A or -C connections. It is as fast as expected (35MB/s with SATA drive). It's not as small as it could be. But the main downside compared to others is that you must remove four screws to open the outer shell and another screw to attach the drive making it unnecessarily tedious to use if you need to swap drives often. Others I have use a quick-release shell and press-in rubber standoff holders for the drive, which don't require any tools and can be disassembled and reassembled in literally seconds vs minutes for this one, so this could be much better and is not very inexpensive.
