Alison Gardiner Christmas Ice Skating Large A3 Traditional Festive Christmas Advent Calendar Made in UK

I tend to pick one up every year for my girlfriend as she likes a traditional advent calendar.A few reviews seem to complain that there's no chocolate in them, but I think that's pretty clear from the description: that's what a "traditional" advent calendar is.

I buy and send three Alison Gardiner every year for my grandchildren in Spain, an event they look forward to eagerly. Alison Gardiner calendars are amongst the very few that can be posted from the UK to the Continent. My only negative comment is that choosing the calendars is not easy as the selection does not change sufficiently often to enable me to send three new, different designs each year. Apart from these two negative comments, I like these attractive and traditional calendars and recommend them without hesitation to UK and Continental buyers alike. Jean Davies

I have been buying these traditional Advent calendars for a few years now, as my elder daughter prefers them to the modern ones and doesn't feel that chocolate is essential in an Advent calendar. Alison Gardiner's designs are lovely - they remind me of the ones we used to have as children 50 years ago. The pictures are interesting and fun, with lots to look at. Although not particularly cheap, I think they are reasonable value for money, given how difficult it is to find this style of calendar. However, I have sent my daughter 3 different ones (over the last 3 years), and there are only 3 more, so I may be stuck for 2019!

I googled Advent Calenders with chocolates and saw Cadburys did one for £9. When I bought these at a total cost of £21 for 2 I thought they would have chocolates inside! Extremely expensive for a piece of card with just pictures. Nice ones though. My 4 year olds will be disappointed as its now too late to return and get another.

It is a good Advent calendar if you want one without chocolate or plastic toys.

This is a lovely traditional picture advent calendar. My boys have two different designs in this make and they had them last year too. The numbers are clear enough for my four year old to find and they are interestingly placed rather than being in numerical order or all at the top. The illustrations are nice too, both fit the main picture and for the ones behind the doors.I will be getting ones from this designer again next year

My little Great Nephew has allergies but I didn't want him to miss out so I bought this calendar for him. He was thrilled with it....as hasn't had Chocolate calendars before, he didn't feel he was missing out. Took me back to my childhood when there was great excitement what picture was behind the door today. ..Ah, the simple things in life.

Beautiful traditional advent calendar! Much better than chocolate ones!
