Terrific shoe
The reviews for these are off the charts but I was still worried about ordering an expensive shoe online, especially as I have a hard time getting a good fit - but they're *wonderful* for me. I haven't had such a comfortable shoe since the good old Saucony's that I used to run in decades ago.. Actually, it's the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn, ever. I'm 70, with glitchy hips and knees and a bit of foot neuropathy - just old feet - pretty normal arches and very slight supination. I bought my regular size 8 and they're a perfect fit. I never feel like I get enough toe box and everything wants to chafe the back of my ankle, and various other styles of "supportive " shoes/inserts just make me feel unnaturally arranged. These just *cradle* my feet somehow, toe-wiggle room, no pressure on that back tendon, and the right amount of support (neither squishy nor too stiff). I generally go around the house in Snoozies but I just don't want to take these off. Nothing works for everyone, but from the reviews these seem to have the odds on their side. (I usually stick to low impact these days but actually broke into a jog on my test-walk - really good cushioning!) Long, gushy review, sorry, but jeez, what a great surprise!

Very comfy but also very pricey! But well worth it!
Comfy and did help with my feet aches - but I still needed to have my inserts in there (which fit fine!) It did run a tad-bit smaller than I thought (I wear a size 8), but it was fine as it was wide enough for comfort. I bought the blue because it was cheaper than the gray I really wanted! Well built, feels like you're walking on clouds! I would recommend you buy these sneakers even if you don't have feet aches. Why? Why wait for the aches to come when you can prevent them in the first place by wearing the right sneakers! PS- I will never wear Nikes again! I used to be a dedicated Nikes customer!

A GREAT shoe for "neutral" runners
I am an older runner, who runs 100 a month. Brooks is a great shoe if you are a 'neutral', runner. That means you have a basic stride with litter over or under pronation. (Your foot rolls one way or the other as you run.) Everyone does a little bit - if your running stroke rolls a lot you might need a shoe built for that. (A trip to a good running store and they can help.) I used to save money on hoes. There were two problems with that. I had significantly more injuries. And the cheaper shoes wore out faster. I like the Brooks Ghost for several reasons. It does not have a tight toebox. The cushioning is good and feels comfortable. They hold up as well as any quality running shoe. Good traction for basic running. Nice upper, and holds up well. I do admit that I have a bias. When I think of THE popular brand it just seems to me that the ultra-rich shoe endorsement money for pro-athletes makes me wonder how much of the cost of the shoe goes to the endorsement. So if I pay the same price as my Brooks as for the shoe with the big endorsements it makes me think I may be getting a shoe with more money spent on the actual shoe. I don't know that's true. But it makes sense to me. BTW - I have no connection with Brooks. I'm just an experienced runner who is sharing my experience and thoughts.

Ghost 13's - just ok but not enough cushion in the ball of the foot area
I am a diehard Brooks fan and have been a diehard Brooks Ghost model fan, but... it may be time to rethink this stance.... I purchased my first pair of Brooks Ghost in early 2016 when I was told by a fellow runner that they were excellent for wide feet and very "cushiony". I purchased Ghost 8's and fell in love with the comfort. The day they arrived I was pressed for time and needed to get in a workout before dark so I didn't even stretch before my run and managed to run 3 miles without any discomfort what so ever! I was so amazed I sat down and wrote a glowing review the same day. I managed to wear out 2 pair of Ghost 8's before I had to move to the next version, Ghost 9. These were not as comfortable but were bearable. Since them I have had Ghost 11's (even less comfortable than the Ghost 9's) and now the Ghost 13's. The Ghost 13's are still good for wide feet but feel even less cushiony on the ball of my foot than the Ghost 11's. The Ghost 11's felt like I was running on a hard surface so imagine even less cushion than that...[shutter]... :( Why oh why brooks do you keep removing cushion from the ball of the foot area while beefing up cushion in the heal. HEY BROOKS!!! JUST ADD MORE CUSHION TO THE BALL OF THE FOOT to balance out the cushion level in the heel!!! I am still trying to decide if I want to return them or spend even more money to by a high-end orthotic to add a more comfortable level of cushion to the ball of the foot. Either way I think it is time to rethink my loyalty to the Ghost line.... :(

Great Comfort for versatile workouts
Type of exercises done: long distance & incline hill runs on & off treadmill. Pros: • Lightweight. • Minimalist branding & packaging. • Comfort is great inside with the toe box not being too wide or narrow. • Shoelace length is ideal; not too long, but not so short that when double-tied, the top of your foot suffers. • Appears to handle mid-foot and heel-strikes well w/o adverse side-effects (but I have only tested this on 3 occasions for each. Body weight, fitness level, running surfaces, and weather will all play a part in how well the shoe holds up). Cons: • None thus far. Additional notes: It’s a great shoe that provides the necessary support without the additional anchor weight that may be associated with other models of this brand or alternatives such as the Gel Nimbus 19 – 22. I would recommend consulting with your local Brooks store just to have a fitting done for your foot. This helps identify your stride/gait and walking + running type are like. The last thing you want is to buy a shoe that does not provide the level of support needed for your body & exercises.
