BESTEK Voltage Converter 110V to 230V Step Up Transformer with 4-Port USB Charging US/EU/AU Adapter UK to US Travel Charger, White-Blue

I work abroad and often in Europe, therefore I need a way in which to power and charge my business laptop, as well as to power my various USB devices, plus I generally need an extension lead too. Carrying around a combination of power adapters is heavy and takes up lots of room, as does bringing phone USB chargers with me and so I wanted an all-in-one unit, but didn't think that one existed until I found this! It arrives packaged neatly and even has its own carry zippable carry case which I didn't expect - inside there is a mains cable for connecting to the plug sockets wherever you might be, the kit also includes three adapters for US, European and Aus (I think) connections, handy as they're small and lightweight. The main unit is lightweight and fairly slim-line, it has two UK plug sockets but more useful for me are the four USB ports on the side - I don't like charging accessories via my laptop USB power ports as they are in the way when using my laptop, therefore this is a really nice way to charge devices independently, plus they're auto-switching even up to 2.4amps for nice quick charging. When connected and plugged in, the operation of it seems to be silent although there is a vent on the end of the unit which looks like it might house a heat-sink and possibly a small fan, but otherwise the unit is silent. Overall, this product is well packaged, includes instructions and a 'Thank you' card - it is all nicely presented, well made and feels well developed.

I bought two of these from my house and both burned out.

Purchased from my electronic wheelchair for my trip to florida. It works fantastically. Easy to use. Has 2 plug points and 4 USB ports to charge various things. Has uk, us and eu adapters. Quick to charge my wheelchair batteries, so glad I purchased it. Compact size for travelling too

I love the versatility of this adapter (which is meant for low loads only...so no hair dryer or clothes iron). The plus side is that it comes with all necessary plug adapters, has x2 3-pin plugs and 4 USB-A outlets which can also charge an iPad 10th Gen while it's in use and while charging some other stuff as well! The only downside...it's very noisy. It doesn't bother me in my home, make-shift office but it will need some modifications to the cooling system before it can be considered as suitable for a hotel room to charge our stuff during travelling. It will be disturbing as it is, for sure. Other than that, if the CE marking is genuine, it is a good value for money as it is the only one I found with the marking on it and I do not intend to buy anything which hasn't undergone the necessary safety certification.

I do a lot of trips over to the US and this little travel adaptor has changed the game. Because the voltage of a UK charger doesn't work well (if at all) on a plane, I've always struggled to use things consistently without bringing a portable charger, but with this little gadget it's so much easier! I can now plug my laptop into the device, and then the device into the plane! The device ups the voltage inside easily and it's very small considering what it does! Really happy - thank you Bestek!

This is a nice unit (switch mode power supply) which gives you 2 UK 13A type sockets for lower power type devices. It offers 200W of output which means a laptop and a bunch of chargers phones etc. It has overload protection but does not state if it has AC smoothing and spike protection which would have been nice. This unit will not work with anything that creates direct heat (hairdryer, iron, or heated tongs etc) as most of these exceed 1KW. I would have given this 5 stars but for. The cooling fan can be annoyingly loud at night if you are recharging, it has a buzzing sound which I couldn’t sleep with it on. The unit and the AC cable are heavy in a good robust way but, not in a travel lite way. It comes with all the a travel bag which is handy but with the unit, mains cord and travel adapters it is bulky for the airline road warrior. The ability to just plug in and play is handy and there are 4 USB type A ports to if your laptop uses.USB-C to charge Apple & Dell newer models, then you can leave the laptop charger at home and just bring a USB type A to type C cord. In fairness, the bulk is not anything other than UK electric regulations and safety. So Bestek could have made it smaller but it would not conform and thus be illegal.

Buy it really whether you are going to Spain / Portugal/ Romania USA / Canada, well you will need two adaptor plugs as well one for the USA and one for Europe. But this will keep you and your devices safe and with 200w power, and no surges one set up, you have four USBs and two Sockets for Plugs. This also comes in very handy in hotels etc for adding the extra socket, and USB ports, mine has been used in all the above countries, I have had it for about five years now and it is still as good as the day I bought it a very good product.

This product is not suitable for UK appliances at 240v. It only goes up to 230v and did not work for me when away recently. Most products in the UK are 240v so feel this should have been made clear when selling into the UK.
