Armstrong Clark Deck and Wood Stain (1 Gallons, Oxford Brown Semi-Solid)

Great color and is a great product

After spending a good amount of time researching products. I decided to go with a 100% oil based product. Mainly for the ease of future maintenance coats. Very happy I went with this product and not something from a big box store. We chose Rustic Brown. Did about 500 sq feet + steps + railing + arbor with about 5 gallons of stain. Highly recommend.

At the recommendation of our contractor. We had them apply Armstrong Deck stain and sealer to our new 1,500 sq ft cedar deck in October 2022.Now, June 2023 The sun exposed portions of the deck are dried out, faded, dry, and the wood is cracking.The deck areas out of the sun look smooth, shiny and dark with no splits or cracks.the contractors was surprised that the Armstrong stain and sealer performed so poorly and is coming out to reapply another coat of Armstrong Deck and Fence stain (same product) on our now faded cedar deck we’re hoping for the best. Stay tuned resealing in two weeks.It was applied professionally by contractor who has used it and recommended it. The UV blocking is minimal.If we would have known this we could have preserved our new deck “look” much longer.

To stain epi. Went on nice. We will see how long it lasts.

We used the Driftwood tone on our boathouse and made it look new again! This stain is easy to use. The oils penetrate the wood and it gives it a terrific look and feel. We will definitely order again for re-stain and touch ups in the future. Thanks!

The lid says in big letters to not overapply the stain. Sadly, that is easier said than done. There is a very fine line between not enough coverage and overapplying, so fine that I found myself crossing it a few times on my deck. When overapplied, it will pool, form a skin, and display a wrinkly surface. I will leave this and be more careful next year.

I am happy to see the Armstrong-Clark stain products on Amazon. I've been a paint and decorating contractor for nearly 30 years and started using this product on mountain resort properties where other products proved unsatisfactory to the harsh winter elements. To this day, I still use the products for wood decks and fencing around my own house. The product rejuvenates wood surfaces, and it last a super long time. My fences were installed 17 years ago, and I have coated them with the Armstrong-Clark twice in that timeframe.I use a hand pump type sprayer along with a 6" block brush taped to the end of an extension pole to back-brush surfaces as the sprayer applies the product. This method limits the amount of bending on fencing applications. If the wood surface looks hungry as the first coat is applied, apply more product and back-brush again. Extremely user-friendly product.

We recently had a new fence installed at our home, and we wanted to make sure that it stood up to the rainy Oregon winters and sunny summers without fear of weathering and discoloration. We went with the Amber color. We found Armstrong Clark stain to be very easy to apply! We are excited that this stain will protect our investment and keep our fence looking top-notch for years to come.
