Q: Can this also be used to connect speakers to monitor output?

You could probably use it for connecting powered speakers to a stereo headphone output, I would not use it with a powered mixer and most monitor outputs would be separate left and right TS or TRS output jacks which this wouldn’t work for. Probably not the ideal way to connect your speakers but in a pinch should work, I use it to take Left and Right XLR stereo outputs from a reverb unit to the TRS stereo input on my mixing board.

Q: Where is this made/manufactured?

It is made in China. Do not waste your money on it. Mine would only work on one channel, and return shipping g was nearly the cost of the item. I threw it away.

Q: how far can you space out the speakers with 5 foot cables? in other words how wide will the XLR plugs go?

Each side is 16” from the “y” split to the bottom of the xlr plug. So about 32” would be the spacing less whatever you need for the plug into the speaker.
