Great module when you understand how to use the connections
I bought one of these alongside the actual iCON fan to replace an existing, failed Aitflow unit. As a drop-in replacement it works great. I also took this opportunity to switch to a humidity module. I can’t think of any cons other than that quieter units from other brands are available. The instructions weren’t exactly clear how you configure the module to run so I’ll add some notes here from my own googling. A key aspect not made explicitly clear in the instructions is that you do not have to connect the T (Live Trigger) terminal which comes from the light switch. It is very likely that existing and new installations will use 3 core cable which have colours: brown, grey and black. A good practice is to use those wires as follows putting a bit of electrician tape on it for future reference to state purpose:Module connections:L - Permanent Live - core brownN - Neutral - core grey (tape it blue)T - Live trigger - core black (tape it brown)If you don’t want to use a timer or humidity function, and just use the light switch, you can have core black going to L.If you don’t want to use the timer (which needs T) - don’t connect T. If you don’t want to use the pull cord I found it can be rolled-up and taped inside the unit. Note that the pull cord is electronic, not a mechanical switch, and is only used to turn the fan ON. Repeated pulling of it resets the timer to start again. If you turn the timer to its minimum setting, that was about 2 minutes in my test. I had no need for the pull cord as I have an isolation switch outside my bathroom which is easier to access. In the rare situation when you want to disable the fan - perhaps you are having a bath listening to music - that isolation switch can be used.I am using the module as humidity detection only and I have not changed the factory set dial. It comes-on three minutes into a shower. If you connect T you get the fan on with the lights every time but the humidity detector will keep it on until steam level drops. I don’t see the point of that mode myself. If you are pondering which module function to use - I would say that when using the toilet at night without turning on the fan, and potentially disturbing others, this is a really good feature of the humidity detector.

Absolutely essential for proper function of bathroom extractor fan.
Perfect! For about 7 years we have had an icon 15 in the main bathroom with no module, dependant on the main light being on (no timer/run-on). We often just use the mirror light and have been having problems with high humidity and condensation on the double glazing in the bathroom and nearby bedrooms.I purchased this module and fitted it into the existing unit with ease. I also replaced/rewired the extractor fan isolator switch with an ordinary dipole switch (decoupling the light circuit from the extractor fan so the fan is always ‘powered’).With the humidity sensor set just right, the fan is by default ‘off’. It automatically turns on when the humidity rises, and continues to run well after the bathroom is vacated until the humidity settles back to normal.Condensation issues have all but disappeared overnight.

Reliable?
Just bought a replacement module for my timer/humidistat Airflow bathroom fan. Original module had lasted 7 years until it needed replacing. Subjective whether you consider this reliable. I have a timer only version which lasted less than that. But as the module is so easy to replace (compared to fitting a new fan) I guess it's worth it. If you were to choose a standard bathroom fan (£20.00 - £30.00), in my experience these can last anywhere between 18 months and 10 years.Thing I really like about these fans is the shutter. No cold drafts in the bathroom. They look good too. On balance worth the money but not brilliant. Just very good.

Good control for humidity with run on timer and pull switch.
The first unit was an opened package with no adjustment tool or instructions and tripped the mains switch, returned for a replacement. The replacement was in original sealed package was fitted and worked correctly, very pleased with the unit just what was needed to automatically vent a utility room.Amazon should not send out opened packages without testing as this cost me second electrician visits which made the humidity module very expensive and was unsafe and dangerous in the wrong hands.

Difficult to find a useful humidity setting
I bought this to replace a motion PIR activated module that would come on anytime someone walked into the bathroom (and run for its given time, whether needed or not), but not register someone taking a shower behind a shower screen. I wanted the fan to come on by itself when it got too humid in the bathroom. Unfortunately, i have been unable to find a setting where this works as intended. It either stays on all the time as the general air is too humid (as a factor of the weather both inside and outside), or it doesnt come on at all when the bathroom starts getting quite misty from the shower running. At the moment we just use the pull cord to get it running for about 25 mins - not the reason I bought this unit.Side note - I'm not sure how sensitive it is to the air immediately around it - the humidity sensor doesn't seem to have much of an opening to be able to sense the air around it, and since the fan cowl is shut until it turns on, i don't really see how it can be very sensitive to the humidity of the air in the bathroom.Easy to install though.

FAN NEVER TURNS OFF
This product by Icon simply does not work, I have wasted hundreds of pounds buying several of these and the humidity stat does not work on any of them, the internet is littered with the same comments now I have looked into it. Daylight robbery by Icon and Amazon you should remove this piece of junk from your platform!

Easy to fit
Easy to fit, but if your fan is directly above your shower or bath don't forget to cover the drain hole!

Reliable and works on its own.
After using two Xpelair - Simply Silent pull cords fans with weak pull mechanism I am extremely happy with this brand and the cleaver integrated attachments that support optional functions. Too much humidity it comes on, pull the cord whilst using the shower during the day, it comes on. Using the bathroom at night it comes on due to a link to the light switch. Set for 45 minutes, then it turns itself off. A powerful fan and reliable unit. Buy one of these if you are seeking a reliable and innovative product.

Funktioniert
