My tumble drier stopped drying. I called a local domestic service engineer who very quickly diagnosed a faulty heater as the drum and other electrics still worked, the dryer just produced no heat.He advised buying one from Amazon using Prime as next day delivery, if he ordered it, he would maybe get it the next day and then have to organise a fitting day. If it arrived the next day he said he’d fit it on his way between appointments as he did. His only reservation it might not be as good as an original part (but as that had burnt out) who knew if it would last. If it wasn’t for his qualified point of view I would give it 5 stars.Now I know how easy it is to fit, if it breaks down again with the same fault I’d do it myself.It works, it fits, it provides heat, I’m a happy customer.Edit - January 2021, I have just been emailed by Amazon to answer a question from a reader - answered but the submit button brought me here.It’s now nearly February 10 months after the install and the heater is still working.I am reminded by other reviewers that their replacement did not last. I think that if you are here buying a (reduced price) element then price is your main driver to get your dryer working again. I now think that this, plus the fee for call out equals the price of an original element. I could have been lucky to get a decent non original part. If it only lasted a couple of months then I might not be as happy.May 2022 - I’ve been asked an Amazon question about this element - it’s still working having been used almost every day over the winter. I must have got a good one. Still, it has now lasted another 15 months from last edit. I decided to update my review. I am conscious of the other reviewers not so good experiences. It’s cheap and an easy fix I think I’d buy another.But, I’ve no idea how much a genuine part is or even if they are actually available. However I’ve had this dryer for a number of years and it is now getting a bit tatty in appearance so if it packs in we may have other choices to make.

This was brought to replace a failed unit. It wasn't an exact replacement and needed a little thought to decide which wires to put where. From memory, this was due to the temperature sensors being in series rather than wired separately. I'm wiring this review 9 months after fitting the unit as the dryer is now getting an error code 08 which is related to the temperature sensors on the heater. I just wish I'd kept the originals!

Slots right in where you take the old one out. An easy and effective repair. May only last a couple of years though (even original was short lived). Worth getting two to avoid weekend no underwear crisis in the future.

So far so good, it's drying things way better than before. Just seeing how long it will be til it's gives up the ghost on me. Installation was easy peasy... Used a YouTube guide to see how it was done. Additional as of 22nd of Feb.... Heart element stopped working so I reckon it lasted about 5 weeks. Unable to return as over 30 days. But hey was a cheap punt that didn't work. Changed my star rating accordingly. Won't purchase again wouldn't recommend either

Was a good but not exact replacement - managed to easily modify the connections with lots of insulation etc and has worked well since fitting

You can fit this in a matter of minutes even if you are a female but trying to pull the little white plastic thing that holds the white wire through the hole is a flaming nightmare. Several bruised fingers later and I give up. The unit turned out to be faulty after all the faffing about. I have ordered a replacement so we shall see!

My husband swapped this on our CandyQ and it is now working again.Please note he just had to pull the lead through the plastic seal on the back (he only realised this after taking the whole machine apart for no reason!)

Bought one of these September last year but warranty is only 6 months. Just out of warranty so had to buy again. Fixes the tumble dryer alright though - but for how long? Lets see how long this one lasts.
