Hard to get it to work but ok after that, nice little gadget

Its a tight fit. Perhaps because its new, but when it goes on it fits nice and snug. The only reason It's getting a 4 star is that when I first tried to connect it top the Xtrons HU it didn't show up. Could have just been some initialization issues. But it took me a while before I got annoyed and kept pressing find device over and over which then picked it up. Since then it has worked perfectly. I sometimes get a break pedal error stored on my cars computer. This thing allows me to clear the error which seems to have an effect on the cars performance. It's an inexpensive bit of kit saving me £45 every time I want to get the error removed by the garage. Worth it.. (He smiles and nods... ). Its easy to fit, and can save money. Worth every penny. Btw. This really is a 5 star item. Not sure if it was the HU or the adapter that was being difficult at 1st.

Having fitted the top model of Xtrons stereo in my Audi TT I thought connecting this to the car would make sense. Unfortunately It wasn't easily connected to the cars port and connecting to the head unit was impossible. I tried several times and it only once showed up on the connections list. After half an hour I gave up. I returned it and bought a stand alone system which does far more than the Xtrons unit.

Not great, it does very little. I'm regretting selling my handheld scanner. This is a gimmick, very disappointed with Xtrons for selling this crap as an add on to their otherwise excellent infotainment unit.

Works we'll with head unit

4 1/2 stars because the low cost, it works as intended with a Xtrons TM100L while pairing on first try, but it is a clone that only does the basics thus not a true 5 stars. I did try a ODBLink LX unit but unfortunately the TM100L wouldn't pair.

Mit der passenden App und dem XTRONS Head-Unit eine wirklich großartige Sache. Auspacken - Einstecken - Geht. Für BMW-Fahrer (Bj. 2001 - 2007) hier eine kleine "Anleitung": diese Fahrzeuge benutzen PIN 8 zur Datenübertragung (K-Leitung). ISO 9141-2 schreibt PIN 7 vor. Wir müssen also PIN 7 und 8 am Stecker verbinden. Der Stecker ist mit 4 Rastnasen ins Gehäuse geclippt (im Bild 1 sind 2 davon markiert) und kann mit einem feinen Schraubenzieher herausgehebelt werden. Das hinterläßt natürlich ein paar Spuren am Gehäuse :-) die mir aber herzlich schnuppe sind. Danach kommt man an die Lötpunkte 'ran und verbindet PIN 7 und 8 mit einer Drahtbrücke (Bild 2): man braucht also 1 Schlitz-Schraubendreher (ca. 2mm), Pinzette, 5mm Draht, 2mm Lötzinn von der Rolle, 'nen Lötkolben und 10 Minuten. Stecker wieder zusammenclippen, einstecken und paßt. Geprüft und für richtig gut befunden an einem BMW e46 Bj. 2004.

Easy to use with the free Torque app on my Xtrons head unit, need to set up via the Bluetooth app and then create a profile on Torque. Lots of options to customise the display and sensor inputs.

Works perfect with my Xtrons head unit on my 2003 BMW 530i. Hate seeing checking engine lights on my dash. Clears my faulty catalytic converter codes with ease. Just wish there were different background/skins to download
