Hello, Our item can only work with seperated 2.4GHZ wifi. We do not charge for internet. As long as your 2.4GHZ wifi is good, it can connect with your wifi within its signal range. Regards, BALDR

Q: Can the sensor be mounted outside? Is it weather and water proof?

I bought the three outdoor sensors package. I mounted one under the roof eave and another one under my porch roof. Just to be safe I would recommend not exposing them directly to rain or snow. One of the outdoor sensors located in my garage did fail after warranty/return window expired.
