Batter than steel wool
Clean, effective, and safer than steel wool for delicate work. The fine-grade bronze cuts light rust and oxidation on blued steel, stainless, glass, and wood finishes without scratching when used with oil. Pads resist corrosion and shed less than steel, so you won’t embed rust-prone fragments. Good size and durability for gun parts, hardware, and cabinet finishes. Downsides: not aggressive for heavy rust, fibers can still shed a bit, and price is higher than bulk rolls. Use with a light oil, apply minimal pressure, and test on an inconspicuous spot first.

Great stuff for finish sanding and delicate cleaning.
I use these to fine sand and clean wood items. They work very well for items that are exposed to the weather. Much better than steel wool which will embed particles in the wood and rust later. They are easy to use and quite durable. They can also be used with cleaning solution for a scratch free finish. To top it off, they are reasonably priced.

Good for waterborne finishes.
It does what it is designed to do. Bronze wool particles will not rust in a waterborne finish. I used it in between four coats of waterborne polyurethane where I think sandpaper sometimes removes too much of the previous coat and is harder to get into nooks and crannies. I used one bronze wool pad in between each coat of polyurethane on the cabinets shown in the photo. So the three pads in the package were just enough for four coats of polyurethane on this much surface area.

Removes rust from steel without scratching.
Got an old rusty .22 rifle from a neighbor. The bore was in good shape, but the barrel and action were covered in light rust. Applying some light oil and then scrubbing with this bronze wool did an amazing job of cleaning it up. Applying a light coat of a good gun oil afterward has really made the old gun shine. Shoots well too. I highly recommend.

Will not leave pieces on your work. I use this to remove "Road Oil on windscreen (Glass only).
Lasts until you lose it or lend it. This is a "detailer's" item that many do not know about. Hard to find unless you live near Cape Cod as it is used for cleaning Marine Chrome. If your windscreen is streaking your windshield wipers then you need to first wash with auto soap your windshield to remove dirt. Then spray some water and more soap on the windscreen (england) , windshield (US). This will remove road oil from all the cars and trucks that have deposited oil on your wind (barrier). Its a little pricey so use only one piece and keep in a ziplock bag to keep it clean. Store the rest as this is Hard to Find. Since it is bronze it is softer than STEEL wool which will scratch Glass. Bronze wool will not rust or break apart like steel wool. Probably good for chrome as well as on MC parts that may have deposits on them. I do not use even 0000 steel wool on Bike Chrome as it scratches. Bronze wool will not.

Be prepared
Recommended due to softness for use on cleanup of blemished firearm metals (rather than steel wool) but be prepared for the messy disintegration droppings.
