crack in the cup
I got the cups and they looked great, but with one wash in the dishwasher , one of the cups developed a crack . This crack is on the inside near the handle area and not visible fro the outside. I would like to return the whole lot as they are not cheap

Nothing special at all in fact worse than average
They look super cheap and stamped with lead free insignia looks like came out of some third world death camp/child labor factory located in highly oppressed nation

Perfect Coffee Mug
Can't believe I'm spending more than fifty bucks for 8 coffee mugs (2 sets of 4) but these are as close to perfect as I think I'll find. Been looking for ages for LIGHT WEIGHT mugs. Capacity-wise, these hold a hair more than 13 ounces. (You'll spill unless limiting fill to 11.5 ounces.) But the net actual weight of each cup is less than 7 ounces! (I'm getting 6.8 - 7.0 oz. on my kitchen scale.) That's literally half the weight of my present mugs. And with arthritis, it makes a difference. Additionally, they are handsome ... of simple design. I love their creamy, translucent glow.

Chinese quality and elegance
If you are serious about drinking tea as I am then you will seek out the best there is to serve it in, which has to be a bone china cup. Prior to this, I'd been very happy with a Royal Doulton cups, but the style I'd been buying for years was no longer available and one by one, my small collection slowly reduced to just a few due to stupid accidents, mainly stemming from my insistence for hand washing them. So I needed an alternative. Fortunately I came across these on Amazon and I have to admit that I am completely blown away by how good they are in virtually every aspect I can think of. Even the packaging box, with its solid foam inserts to protect each cup, is a thing of beauty and reflects the care and attention that Chulan have paid to this product range. Finish quality is top notch, individual cup weight and feel is superb and they minimally impact the thermal properties of the tea (making it taste better), which is why you buy them in the first place. I've yet to break one so I can't comment on how solidly built they are, but fingers crossed, these will last longer than the Royal Doulton ones. The gold band around the top is also showing no signs of wear so far, so with any luck these will still look as good as new a few years down the road. Regarding the negative comment by another reviewer regarding interior staining, this will happen with any cup. The solution? Hand wash and use one those scrubbing sponges (the blue ones or green ones) to clean the interior and they will look like new again. Although they are dishwasher safe, I still plan to hand wash mine after each use. Why? Because I'm old fashioned and like the inconvenience and expense of doing things the hard way. But my tea really does taste better. Everyone says so.
